Yeah, you're right, even though the movie wasn't very good it made a good theme for decorating that area of the park. Right now they even have giant Christmas tree ornaments (complete with wire hook!) laying around in different spots and big Christmas tree lights hanging up.
Oh, also, I assume Disney thought that incorporating Bugs into DCA would fit in with the agricultural aspect of California. When they decided to go with that California theme, they realy tried to adhere to it and make everything fit. In a way, even though I love DCA now, I almost wish they would have just scrapped that Cali idea in the VERY beginning and gone with just fun, magical ideas, and made a new park and start filling it with all kind of Pixar stuff and make the individual lands for those films. But now they have gotten this far into the Cali thing, so they have to revise it and still try to maintain some of it and having those other lands doesn't fit in with their grand scheme.
