Have you tried booking a table? The Disney reservation system has a quirk that makes it harder for odd numbered parties to get a table so try looking for a party of 2. When you get to the restaurant just let them know you're a solo. As long as you show up, you won't be charged the no show fee for the "other" person.
If you don't like planning in advance and are just hoping to get in, I think it depends on when you want to eat. Maybe early in the evening or after fireworks, but if you're hoping for a table during fireworks, that's unlikely.
If you don't mind sitting at the bar, you don't need a reservation for any of the bars or lounges in DW. Ask at the podium on the second floor if you can go up to the bar. They will let you if it's not too crowded - again many people ask around fireworks time so less likely then. Also, CG is offering a special Omakase menu and seating will be at the bar, but at $175 per person I don't think it will take up too many seats. You could do the Omakase dinner and I'm sure they'll seat you!
