Cali Grill Timing Question

I have a 5:40 adr for California Grill on Dec 19. I am contemplating getting a MVMCP ticket for that night. I will be a solo diner, but I wonder how long I should allot for California Grill or if I should just try this restaurant another time when my family can be there and get a reservation elsewhere at Disney.

I've tried other days when I am there--nothing is available.

When we had a 7:30 reservation, we finished dessert right as the fireworks were starting at 10 pm. There were two of us dining. I don't know if this was because we went during the summer or what, but just take this as a tip.

That sounds about right even dining solo. When I ate there solo a couple years ago, that's about how long it took. One tip, when I checked in, I politely asked for a table by the window so I could look outside, since I didn't have anyone to talk to. They gave me a nice seat right by the window.
