Cali Grill or Narcoossee's???

Okay DISers, I have a decision to make and I need your help. First, here's our plan:

Mid-May '08

• Breakfast at Chef Mickey's with DH, DS (8) and DS's BF (9)
• Spend morning/early afternoon at DTD (Lego Store, WATCH OUT! )
• Lunch at DTD somewhere
• Swimming at resort (SSR)

THEN...(here's where I need your help)...
I was thinking about a nice dinner around 7 or 8 at either Cali Grill or Narcoossee's with all 4 of us before we go to the EMH at MK that night. For some reason Narcoosee's is sounding really appealing right now, however I know from reading the boards that CG is definitely a favorite of many of you.

Of course I want to hear about food comparisons but also want to hear about the environments at each restaurant...would the 2 boys be better off at one over the other? Is one place more "interesting" than the other?

Also, if the park closes at 10, that means it'll be open until 1 am, right?

my vote is for Narcoossees, it is my FAVORITE restaurant. we always eat there last night of our trip. I love the atmosphere, service, and FOOD! my husband loves teh lobster and crab cakes, and I LOVE the Steak and almond crusted cheesecake! Its a small quaint little place, but thats why I like it. Great views of MK< and I love being out "on the water" this is just an all around great place for me, and we love it! i have a dining report in my siggy if you would like to read more about it

I totally agree with Heatherlynn444. It's our favorite restaurant, too. DH and I have been there 3 or 4 times (going again on our next trip) and we haven't had a bad meal there. Another plus to Narcoossee's is that it has a great view of the MK fireworks (although I've heard that the view from CG is excellent).

Yes you know it is the ONE restaurant in Disney that I don't feel like I am in Disney. It has that small town feel to it. We love it. Yummy food. But the last time we went was last easter and I believe there has been a chef change since then. But all recent reviews I have seen seem to love it still.
We have never been to Cali Grill- trying it this time.

We ate at Narcoossee's the last time we visited The World. It was amazing! The lobster was very enjoyable, and the atmosphere was top-notch. Even our DS 6 had a good time. We've never been to Cali Grill so we don't have that to compare it with. But Narcoossee's would be difficult to beat.

i've eaten at both on several occasions and i think Ca Grill has much better food than Narcoosees. I'd rate it at 10 to 1.

So glad you asked this question. We have ADRs at CG, but wanted one more signature restaurant and chose Narcoosee's. Glad to hear so many love it. Our ADR is for 6:30 since it's our last night of our vacation and we wanted to watch Wishes from MK. But maybe we should make them a bit later and watch from the outside deck...

I loved the Cal. grill it had the best filet mignon ever. My husband liked his grill pork tendorloin also. If you make the reservation between 800 and 830 you can see the fireworks from MK. Also I might add superior service. I have never eaten at Narcoosees so I cannot compare. If you are on the dining plan it takes 2 meal tickets. I did not mind because the food is so good.

I appreciate all of the helpful input. I knew I could count on you guys! We've decided to give Narcoossee's a try, so I'm going to call and make ADRs today. Wish me luck!
