Thank you for all of the replies! It sounds like we should stick with either Cali Grill or Citricos over AP.
We have looked at both restaurant menus and feel that we would probably order the same type of dishes at either restaurant. We are NOT red meat eaters, so steak has no appeal. My mom said she would likely order a nice fish entree and I would opt for fish/sushi/chicken/vegetarian.
In looking at the Citricos menu, we would probably order any of the following:
-Arancini
-Cheese Course Trio
-Heirloom Tomatoes
-Brentwood Corn Soup
-Salad of Romaine Lettuce
-Roast Chicken Breast
-Seared Tofu
-Pan-Seared Red Snapper
-All of the desserts look good, but we are pretty big chocolate lovers... how is the Warm Chocolate Banana Tart?
In looking at the CG menu, we would probably order any of the following:
-Any flatbread
-Fried Zucchini w/ blossoms
-Hearts of Romaine
-Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli
-Dragon Roll
-Grilled Pork Tenderloin (if I realllly want to be adventurous and it's well done)
-Pacific Halibut
-Florida Yellowtail Snapper
-Valrhona Chocolate Cake-- how does it compare to Chocolate Banana Tart at Citricos?
As you can see, the food options we would likely choose at either restaurant are quite similar. How do these food items compare? Has anyone tried these items and can review them?
We are sticking with 'Ohana because we have never been and have always wanted to try it- and I was lucky enough to snag a 5:15 ADR before MVMCP! And we are absolute Boma lovers/have no other dinner buffets planned/wanted to visit the AKL one night to see the Christmas decorations anyway, so it just makes sense to stick to that restaurant as well. Plus, too many signature ADRs gets expensive!
So thoughts on Cali Grill vs Citricos based on the food items I listed? We do prefer the view from Cali Grill, but it sounds like Citricos might be the more serene, upscale experience for a mother-daughter dinner during the holidays. Hmmm
