Want to go to WDW in Sept. Just wondering the best way to book this. Expedia/Travelocity etc. etc. Keep hearing about AAA discounts. Is this available to Canadians. Was hoping for a 40% code, but none. So now I am just trying to get a good deal. Been to DL 5 times. WDW seems like so much more work. Any info would be great.....

My vote woudl be to check with Northwest Airlines. That's the way we always fly out of Edmonton to Orlando.

Try Dreams unlimited, Westjet Vacations, Alberta Motor Association, Co-op Travel or WDW website itself. I have booked with Dreams Unlimited they were good, Westjet Vacations and Co-op travel have great prices I have never used them, AMA has screwed up every single trip I have ever booked including the most recent one to DL in November (don't recommend) and we have never booked with WDW directly. We bought DVC and avoid all the hassle and politics completely:goodvibes We live in Calgary. Right now NWA has the best priced flights. WJ and AC compete for seat sales depending on the time of year. HTH

My experience is that Westjet to Orlando is often more expensive than AC but there are sales out there. They seem to come and go like the wind (which this year, never does seem to go does it?) I have booked travel with CAA a number of times and while they are great at some things, I haven't found a better air deal from them than I could find on my own and here in Alberta all the CAA specials that I have seen apply to DL (although, I may miss stuff). We have also flown out of Great Falls in the US, but we are further south of you and equadistance from Calgary and the border. I did also discover, from checking around, that you can often fly into Tampa much cheaper than Orlando. If you combine the WDW vacation with some St. Petes or Clearwater beach time, this may be an option. Good luck and if you find a killer deal, let me know.

Holy Moley it is cheaper to fly into Tampa I have never looked and it is only 80 miles from Orlando! :thanks:

We have gone through NWA, AMA ( Continetial) , SEARS ( United/ NWA) & Expedia (NWA) . We have never paid more than $500 per person. What are your dates in September? I am always on different sites looking for deals. If I see something, I can let you know.:wizard:

Flights this year seem to be substantially more than last year. In Jan. of last year, we were able to get 6 flights through Expedia at just over 320/person including taxes for flights in June/July. This year, I haven't been able to see anything under 500 so ended up getting my daughter's flights through a charity auction.

I just wanted to mention that we flew into Tampa a couple of times from Edmonton. Even with the car rental the cost was less. It's not a bad drive -- freeway all the way.

...here in Alberta all the CAA specials that I have seen apply to DL...

More than likely, it's just a marketing thing, as here in the U.S., if you head west, you'll start to hear DL mentioned more often than WDW.

That said, if you book travel through AAA, your CAA card should give you the same entitlements as any U.S. member (since both auto clubs have reciprocal privileges).

Well I took your advice and you just saved our family a ton of money. We were able to book flights for the 5 of us Calgary to Tampa....for........
$470.00 CAD Including all taxes for each of us! :dance3: :thanks::thanks::thanks:

We booked our flights well in advanced with NWA. Others we know did as well and had super prices. I guess timing can be be a factor.

Timing is always a factor but I am looking at 7 months out.

Dates I am looking at is Sept 13/21. Keep the info coming. If anyone has seen something great please post it. Thanks everyone.

Is it just two of you, or do you kids. I see you are out of Red Deer, so does it have to be Calgary, or could it be Edmonton??
Sept 13 -21
YYC to Tampa $481 each
YYC to MCO $676 each
YEG to Tampa $565 each
YEG to MCO $525 each
This was on expedia

On Kayak.com if you go Sept 13 -20 or 13- 22 The price is as follows:
YEG To MCO $377 United
YYC to MCO $518 NWA (Sept 13-21)

You might want to grab that united flight!!

I just checked ama.ab.ca and this is what they had:

$367.59 Edmonton, AB to Orlando, FL Round Trip United Airlines Inc
Depart Saturday, Sep 13:
Return Sun, Sep 21

I have to ditto the comments about North West. We flew from Calgary to Orlando last year for $360 pp (including all taxes). Couldn't find anything else that even came close. Just one word of advice. Always search for prices one passenger. When I searched for one, I got $360, when I searched for four it was much higher. They only have a certain number of seats at each price level (or fare bucket, as they call it).

Sorry, we used United this trip not NWA. Try using United.ca not United.com. You should see a difference. Good luck.
