Hi all,
Recently I have had a significant problem crop up with my walking. No matter if I am on a treadmill or outside, within 5 minutes of a 17 - 18 mph pace my calves begin burning to the point that they feel like they will explode.
I have good shoes that are not worn out
I stretch my calves, shins and legs before I start
I walk for about 5 minutes at a relaxed pace to warm up
I stretch again.
A month ago I walked a 5k at a 16 mph pace and had no problem. Last weekend I started out to walk 10k and at only .5 mile in I had to stop and turn around
Within 10 - 20 minutes of stopping my activity the pain simply fades away.
Does anyone else have experience with this?
Thanks!
Anne
