Calendar Party

My kids school is having a calendar party on 10/19. I'd love to be a hostess for one of the tables, but since I've never been to one, I haven't the first clue about what to do, what theme to pick, etc.

I would be responsible for a centerpiece, favors for 10-15 people, snacks and drinks, and decorations.

Any suggestions? I have until 10/3 to sign up, if I don't chicken out first.

Oh, since I work all day, there is limited time to get everything together, so think... E-A-S-Y, but fun and fabulous.

I don't know anything about calendar parties but I'll bump this up and maybe someone else will be able to help! Sounds like a fun idea.

I've never heard of a "calendar" party. Do you take a month and decorate for that month, or something?

From what I understand, having never been to one, each table usually takes a month and comes up with a theme for that month. This would be the original idea behind this fundraiser.

I talked to some of the parents yesterday and I guess that this party will be all sorts of themes, not necessarily related to a month/holiday. I signed up to assist with a group that will be hosting a martini bar theme. For our centerpiece, we'll have a basket with a shaker, vodka, vermouth, cocktail napkins, olives, glasses, etc. We haven't decided on a favor yet.

What I didn't know before yesterday is that the centerpiece is supposed to be raffled off, so it is supposed to be as nice as you can make it. Chances are bought, ours will be 20 for $5 and whoever wants to take a chance at ours will put their ticket in our bin.

I like the idea of going in with others who have done this before. No one will be overburdened with the expenses of the entire table.
