For the past few years, I've used Invent-It calendar kits to make calendars for family members.

Well, I think they went out of business. I have a couple of kits to use for this year, but I don't know what to use after that. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations?

Is that where you send them 12 (or more) pictures to make into a calendar? Different picture(s) every month?

I think I've seen these advertised at local photo developing places like Walgreens, Osco ... or similar stores.

Those make for Wonderful gifts! ::yes::

We've gotten the kits (can't remember the brand) at the photo counters at Wal-Mart and K-Mart.

You can also have these done at Office Max (probably any other office store) and Kinkos.

I've also seen something similar in Miles Kimble or Harriet Carter one of those catalogs.

You might do a search and see if there is a company that can do it online. Just email your pics in.

Mary Jo - just searched for the Invent-It Photo Calendar Kit on amazon.com and it says "This item is not stocked or has been discontinued." Since you haven't been able to find the kits in stores it does sound like it may have been discontinued. Bummer. I used one of these a couple of years ago for a Christmas gift and the recipients just loved it.

Maybe you can use a good quality card stock to print the calendar on and then take it to an office supply store to have it spiral bound. Or maybe another company will come out with a similar product but since you've been looking and haven't found any I guess that's unlikely for this year anyway.

I really liked the do-it-all-yourself aspect of the kits and the paper was really neat too with photo quality on one side and cardboard stock on the other.

<font color=navy>I used to use Kinkos until I found Invent-it - first at Office Depot, then on the Internet.

I would make my calendars in Powerpoint, and then like Aprille said, use the glossy side for photos and the matte side for the calendar itself. With Kinkos, the quality was 'okay' and it was a pic or two, and it was $30 a calendar. The kit was only $15, and less than that if you bought 5 at a time. It allows you to put as many pics and as much clipart as you want. I really like them.

I agree, Aprille, I hope someone comes out with a similar kit, or I'll have to improvise.
