Calculators vs. Point Charts

Can anyone help?????

I've checked the points calculator on this site, the points chart at The Timeshare Store, and a vacation club program I downloaded and I get a different number from each one for the dates that I am looking for (range - 70 to 88). Can anyone tell me the exact number of points we need for:

BWV Studio - Standard View - June 14-19, 2003
(Saturday thru Thursday)

Thanks for any help we can get - I'd like to get moving on a reservation as soon as possible!

You may have gotten different numbers by counting days, and not the "night" stay. If you straddle a Thurs/Fri it could chang eyour point calc. Sorry I don't have a points chart in front of me or I'd calc it for you.

I am assuming you are leaving on Thursaday and thus not staying the night of the 19th. Saturday night is 28 points; every other night is 11 per night. Total is 72. Probability of getting that standard view is low (although you should still try). When we called in early August were told that all standard views were already booked for that week in June (and in fact all of June). One of the reasons is that it is likely 1/3 to 1/2 of all standard views will be out of service then for renovation.

I get the same answer from both the <a href="http://www.wdwinfo.com/resort/dvcpoint.cfm">DVC Point Calculator</a> and the Timeshare Store charts.

Saturday night is 28 points and the other 4 nights are 11 each for a total of 72 points. This is for a standard view studio at Boardwalk.

Probably a better way to get your rental is to post the dates, resort and room type you want and negotiate the price with the member. The points are not what you are renting- it is the reservation that is rented. You should also check with Disney to see what the rate would be for the same room type as a cash reservation thru CRO.

Ok if you check in Jun14 and depart june 19th 5 nights total
Prefferred view = 88pts
standard view = 72pts
If you meant stayinig 6 nights 6/14-19/2003 and departing friday the 20th
prefferred view = 100pts
standard view = 82pts

Actually yasuern made a slight math error in his/her calculation.

The 5-day total is correct at 72 points standard or 88 points preferred.

The 6-day total is actually 83 points standard or 102 points preferred.

(72 + 1 more day at 11 points = 83)
(88 + 1 more day at 14 points = 102)

I wonder if you didn't find the old version of the points calculator that used the check in day and the last full day instead of the check out day.
