right im very bamboozled apparently on the way there and back to disney there tolls etc which obvisley u pay for except apparently these tolls/petrol stations dont except cash only credit cards..this true guys and girls ?

I have always paid by cash & had no problems. They are manned so they take both

Look out for the signs also that tell you whether the toll booth is at the left or righthand side. Handy if you don't have a passenger. Since if you go to the French side you will have to get out of the car :thumbsup2

We didn't know about any tolls until we got there, wondered what was going on or how much it was going to be.

Thankfully as others have said they accept cash and cards so we luckily we had both on us anyway.

The tolls cost us something like €13.80 each way.

fab so it wont break the disney bank then lol...this has probably been said loads of times but i never drvien abroad before is there any links on here showing a checklist of what u legally have to have in the car? and what documentaion u need of the car? x

Not sure about other links on here with regards to driving abroad.

The only things we took were a warning triangle in case we break down, flurescent coat (however you spell it lol), GB badge for the back and headlight deflectors which we bought from Halfords over here for £6 that came with 2 light deflectors and the badge.

In addition you should carry a spare set of bulbs, since you can be fined if you are not able to replace a defective bulb :)

As you are going from Calais the toll will be about 19.20 Euros each way.

And you need a high vis jacket for every occupant in the vehicle, not just the driver.

Here is the link to the AA site. Currently it is only stating that drivers need the reflective jacket.
Be aware that it must be in the passenger part of the car, not the boot :)

This is where it is getting confusing, many travel site say only the driver & the others say it has to be for every passenger. I wish they would find out which is right as the fine isn't small.
