Cakes and Napoleons and F&W, oh my! Planning our Disney wedding!! UPDATED 9/15!!!

You look absolutely stunning! Your dress is a beautiful color on you. Your hair and make up is amazing!!! I bet you felt like a princess..:goodvibes

Yay, a new update! :) Following along...

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing the pictures. You guys look great - and very happy. :)

So glad you were finally able to get out of the shoes. :thumbsup2 Uncomfortable shoes are no good, especially in Disney World.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Hahaha yes, the shoes came off as soon as possible!

Love the pictures, you guys look great! I love your hair and makeup, it's perfect! Your save the date cards are so adorable!

Ugh, I can't imagine walking around in heels in Disney, even for that short amount of time! I am so not a heels kind of girl anymore! Give me Crocs any day! :rotfl:

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Ugh, no, it was not a morning of well-planned footwear! I am not a heels kind of girl AT ALL!

After looking at the engagement pictures, I have new nicknames for you two. Sexy Sara and Stud Muffin! You two look amazing and so in love. :lovestruc While I like all of the pictures, I think that the phone booth ones were my favorite and was excited to see that you chose it for your Save The Date card. Oh and the card, super cute! ::yes::

Believe me when I say that I did not laugh one tiny little bit when you were talking about walking in the heels and couldn't wait to get out of them. I hate wearing heels and only do it when it's absolutely necessary. Thank goodness our church has a "come as you are" policy and I don't feel like I have to dress all dressy.

Hahaha thank you!!! :goodvibes

I pretty much avoid wearing heels as much as possible too!! This was a rare occasion for me!

Joining in! :cool1: Love your trip reports! You guys look great in the engagement photos!

Welcome!! Thank you!! :goodvibes

I just love those photos !! Absolutely amazing !! You both look so good. Priceless !!!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

What BEAUTIFUL engagement pictures!

How spectacular that you were able to have them done at Epcot - what an excellent backdrop! (And, perfect for the two of you!) :goodvibes

Thanks!! :goodvibes Yes, it was so fun that we were able to do them in Epcot!

Your engagement photos are wonderful...by yourselves, you look beautiful and Wingnut is very handsome, but together you're perfection! :cloud9:

Awww thank you!! :goodvibes

Look at you ... your little blue dress looking all Frenchie and those cute little heels... nice make up too....:thumbsup2 You and Wingnut are looking great...:goodvibes

BTW I would have thought it too cool to be driving on the Epcot WS path too...;)

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Hahaha yes, that was very cool!! :thumbsup2

Absolutely fabulous photos! I think my favorites are the ones with the phone booth. So precious.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Gorgeous photos Sara! You guys got some incredible shots.

Your hair and makeup look great, and what a good idea to use the engagement shoot as a trial run. I'm sure you'll feel much more confident on the big day having already seen her work.

I'd have been tempted to buy new shoes too. Once the feet hurt, there's just no distracting me from it.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Yes, I was happy to be able to do a trial run!!

Ugh, no, there was absolutely nothing on my mind other than being able to take off those heels!! :headache:

I know I said this before - but those pictures are really stunning and I absolutely love the makeup. Your makeup person did a fantastic job - just perfect for your pictures!

I think that would be a very fun experience!

As to the evil shoes - lesson learned!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes It was a really cool experience!

Hahaha yes, I definitely learned my lesson! :thumbsup2

Ohhhh those engagement photos are absolutely gorgeous!!
I know how awful an evil pair of shoes can be but I had a bit of a giggle at your description of throwing them and saying words and using muppet bandages.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Hahaha in retrospect, it was pretty funny! Yes, of COURSE I used my Muppets band-aids!! :thumbsup2

Wow, Sara, you looked gorgeous! (Not that you don't always look pretty!! Lol just realized how that sounded >.<)

Love the Morocco pictures!!! They're my favorite of the set :)

Hahaha thank you!!! :goodvibes

STUNNING shots! How fun to have your engagement shots taken at Epcot! That sounds like a dream!!! :lovestruc Shew, glad you got those shoes off and hopefully had no permanent damage...cannot imagine trying to walk anywhere in nice shoes at WDW!

I am peeking out of lurkdom for a moment to comment on your engagement photos...WOW!!!!!! What an incredible experience! If these are just engagement pics I cannot wait to see what they do with the actual wedding photos!!! Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! ::yes::

A sidenote about the evil cute shoes...I can totally relate. Being the country bumpkin that I am from TN, I probably would have kicked them off and went barefoot!!! :rotfl2:

Okay, going back into hiding now... :surfweb:

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Hahaha I did consider it, I'll admit!

Wow, those engagement photos are amazing. Love the locations you two are in for the photos, as well. Morocco has those tiles that I think go really well with your pictures. :goodvibes
And your hair and makeup look great.
Overall, in just what you've posted so far, it looks like everything was coming together smoothly and there weren't a lot of bumps in the wedding-planning mode. :thumbsup2

Ugh, heels in Disney.... There's a reason all the touring books and planning websites preach about the neccesity of good shoes on a WDW vacation. I couldn't imagine having to walk around for even an hour in uncomfortable shoes in the World Showcase.

Thanks!! :goodvibes Yes, I loved the atmosphere in Morocco! No, no wedding-planning bumps, knock on wood!

Hahaha yes, I pretty much violated the number one rule of Disney right there! Badly-thought-out plan on my part, I have to admit!

Great photos

Thanks!! :goodvibes

It sounds like an amazing trip so far.WOW that black n white phonre booth kiss pic looks great!!It's like something out of a magazine.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Aw, your engagement photos turned out great! I like the pleats in your dress (I guess they're pleats?), they make it look very elegant.

It's so funny to see those glamorous photos of yours in that room in Morocco, with the fountain where I once had a picture taken.

Thank you!! :goodvibes Yes, those are pleats - I have to say, I am very impressed with your fashion knowledge, Glenn!! :thumbsup2

Hahaha I had forgotten all about that!! :rotfl:

Fantastic Photos!!:goodvibes

Thanks!! :goodvibes

I love your engagement photos! They turned out so nice. Great choice for your save the dates as well. You must be getting excited now!

I'll try to remember what we had for our brunch menu…
- Some type of chicken (but it was to-order so not many people had it)
- Pasta Primavera
- Mickey Waffles
- Eggs/Bacon/Sausage/etc.
- Fruit and yogurt parfaits (delicious - in individual martini glasses)
- Croissants
- Fruit
- Pastries/tarts

There was a ton of food and many choices. It was all great, and it really wasn't very expensive per person. Since it was brunch, and I am picky, and it was fairly informal, we had a buffet.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

Oooh your brunch menu sounds really good!!! Thanks for sharing!! (And making me hungry! :rotfl: )

I love your photos. I really like the one of you holding hands and it looks like you are holding a glowing magical crystal or something. I can only image how beautiful your wedding will be.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes Hahaha it does look like a magic crystal!! That was inside the entrance to Tangeriene Cafe!

Such COOL pictures! You both looked great and got some really creative shots too! I'm jealous - we didn't even get engagement pictures, and our wedding photographer was less than creative. Oh well! Things are different these days (I sound like I've been married for 40 years!- it's really 15.)

I feel your pain on the shoes! I probably would have been barefoot by the time I got out of IG!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Beautiful Engagement pictures!!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Your pictures are so wonderful! World Showcase is an awesome, awesome spot to have engagement photos in. That's just brilliant. Ahh, I love it! :goodvibes

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

I love your engagement pictures!! Especially the ones in Morocco, my favorite pavilion. And you dress is so cute! Where did you find it?

Thanks!! :goodvibes I got the dress a few years ago from Anthropologie!

Your photos came out AMAZING! AHHH. I lovelovelove them! You look beautiful. :goodvibes Your wedding is going to be so wonderful! I'm excited for you! And your Save the Dates are adorable, too!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Your engagement photos are gorgeous!! And I love your dress! :goodvibes

Love hearing about all the wedding planning as well. Who knew there were so many ways to fold a napkin? Awesome! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Hahaha I never knew how many napkin folds there were either!!

Beautiful engagement photos! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Your engagement photos are gorgeous! You two look so happy and in love and that blue dress is just beautiful!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Your pictures are gorgeous and I love your save the dates!
And your dress was stunning!!

I'm the same way with shoes.. I admit I would have acted the same way too- heels can be the devil sometimes! LOL

Thanks!!! :goodvibes Hahaha yes, I am not a heels kind of girl at all!!

Your engagement photos are amazing! Love that you took them in World Showcase! So super cool! Your save the dates turned out so cute as well!

So super excited for you both!! :)

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

I finally have internet access again (after three months!!) so I'm going back to get caught up!

Yay for Internet!!

I love love love that black and white picture! And you look absolutely beautiful! Your Save The Dates came out so cute! I'm so excited for you guys!:banana::banana:

No, thankfully nothing beyond a few blisters!! I definitely learned my lesson with those shoes quickly!

LOVED!! the photos!!

it makes me want to go back in time 20 years and get married at Disney!!

and can I just say that I actually heard "evil foreshadowing music" playing in my head when you decided to NOT put those flip flops in your bag....:rotfl:

and even though Im a dreaded lurker , I've loved ALL of your TRs!!

Aww thank you!! :)

Inquiring Peeps here waiting to live vicariously through your wedding planning...:surfweb:

Just saying...:confused3

Hahaha alright, alright, I know I've been pretty slow on the updates with this TR! Working on an update now! :thumbsup2

My feet happily back into their usual Converse, we quickly made our way over to the Magic Kingdom. I enjoyed seeing all of the Halloween decorations up, especially since, well, it was actually Halloween! We had seen a bunch of people walking around in costumes throughout the week so far, but by far saw the most this day.

The Magic Kingdom wasn’t too crowded, despite it already being around 11 am, probably because of the MNSSHP later that evening.

(Can you tell I liked the Halloween decorations??)

We were both hungry, and soon decided that Casey’s would be our lunch destination of the day. (A good portion of that decision-making fell on location proximity to us, but we do both enjoy it there.)

Remarkably, there was hardly a line at Casey’s, and we were soon at the counter placing our order. I was too distracted by what I should get for dessert to pay attention to what I was ordering for my entrée, thus completely forgetting about the new hot dogs that had been added to the menu since we had last visited.

Me: I’ll have a regular hot dog meal with a brownie
DF: I’ll have the Chicago-style hot dog meal with Cracker Jack
Me: (Already halfway to the melted cheese…I mean, toppings bar) Wait, what??

I didn’t change my order, but was a bit envious of DF’s meal, and stole a few of his toppings while we ate.

Mmmm food.

We both really enjoyed our meals, although the surprise hit ended up being my brownie. (See, I did pay attention to SOMETHING of importance!) It was really fresh and soft, and had a nice mix of different chocolates throughout.

Also, a parade went by while we ate:

As we were finishing up, these little scavengers started to hover around our table.

Sorry buddy, no cheesy fries for you today.

We then set off to visit a few of our favorite rides.

CONTINUED...

Me in my glamorous hair and makeup…and my dinosaur t-shirt.

I know I have a billion crane-less photos of the castle, but it is still annoying to see it in a few of them!

And we're walking...

First up, despite the lack of pictures, was definitely Jungle Cruise. We then went over to Pirates, where the mermaids at the beginning of the ride had just been added shortly prior.

(Shortly prior? What kind of sense does that even make?)

Mermaid addition!

"We wants the redhead!"

"We wants the keys!"

We then followed our usual sequence, making our way over to the Haunted Mansion.

Interactive queue, OF COURSE.

And of course, I HAD to get this picture.

CONTINUED...

We then rounded the corner up to Fantasyland, and I got all excited to see the constructions progress.

(As of October/November)

As we hovered around the entrance to New Fantasyland (they were doing previews, but unfortunately not during the days we were there), hoping to get some sort of magical invitation in, a CM actually did approach us, asking if we had eaten lunch that day.

Because I had an inkling of where this was going, I regretfully answered "yes". My suspicions were right, and she was inviting us over to try Be Our Guest for lunch, they were doing testing or previews or whatnots.

(Had we only just eaten lunch at Casey's, I would have TOTALLY said yes. But we were also scheduled to have dinner with my parents that night, and knew that 2 lunches AND dinner would be totally out of the realm of our stomach capacity.)

ARGH. :sad1:

She said that they were likely to be doing previews of BOG throughout the rest of the week, and to feel free to ask the CMs around New Fantasyland if we were back in the area and hungry. As cool as that would have been, spoiler alert, we did not get back there for lunch.

But if we werent able to have lunch at BOG, we could still check out Storybook Circus! Over we went!

I have to say, I am not a huge circus fan, but this area is VERY well-done. Its extremely brightly colored, and just radiates fun. I loved walking around there, but knew that it is an area much more appreciated by people with children, with the more child-friendly rides and splash area in this land.

YES, ALSO CONTINUED...

After meandering around Storybook Circus, we went back over to our usual ride rotation, and went on Buzz.

Where I totally won.

(No, I never do.)

But I did finally figure out where the ride photo is taken! Success!

Next up, a leisurely spin on the TTA.

After the TTA, we decided to make our way over to Epcot where our dinner that night was going to be.

We stopped in the Confectionary on the way out. (What? I love the smell of sugary goodness!)

Mmm candy apples.

I exercised incredible self-restraint, and did not buy anything.

Bye Magic Kingdom! Well be back!

Magic Kingdom in the fall is wonderful! I enjoyed jumping back in time a few months through your pictures this evening. :thumbsup2

Too bad about the BOG offer. That would have been a nice experience. I am hoping to have a counter service meal there in March.

I just love the entrance area to Adventureland. :)

Oh those Halloween decorations make me so happy! I was in MK on Halloween as well, not in the morning though. Sigh. I will miss the lack of orange when I return in May.

You look great! I love having full hair/make-up and a casual outfit on. It's my glamour compromise. I can only do so much. LOL. Your engagement photos really are amazing, it was well worth the high heel pain!

Oh my God... that Be Our Guest situation. WHAT A TEASE.

I need a closer look at your dinosaur shirt, STAT!

Okay, so where exactly is the ring in the Haunted Mansion queue? I tried to find it when we were there last month and was unsuccessful.

Also - I'm so glad there is someone else who has as many issues as I do on Buzz. I'm seriously terrible.

Hi Sarah! Your engagement photos are awesome! They really capture the fun and playfulness of your personalities. Thanks for sharing your save the date - love the photo you selected! Your stylist/make-up artist did such a great job making you look so glam! :cutie:

There's mermaids at the beginning of PotC?? How fun! I'm going to have to pay attention. Just like I have no idea where that ring is in the ride queue for HM....

You are practically a galactic hero with your Buzz score! :yay:

I am with you on loving the halloween decorations. I truly do love Christmas... but for some reason fall decorations seem fun to me in a whole different way.

I can't believe you didn't do the test for BOG! If only you hadn't just ate!!!!

Great update!!
