Cake Mix Bag Open?

I opened up a box of cake mix this morning and the bag inside looks like it came open in the corner. Is it still ok to use? It is good until March 2012. Looks fine...just want some feedback.

I'd use it....especially if it looked like it was just mis-sealed.....but not if it was nibbled on!!

Yes, definitely looks mis-sealed not nibbled on...

I'd also contact the company to let them know this happened because it might be a defect from that batch. Usually they'll send you a few coupons for your trouble.

This happened to me with a Betty Crocker Blueberry muffin mix.
I emailed the company, they contacted me, via email, then sent me $5 worth of coupons.

Even IF it was a factory problem, I would NOT use the mix if that inner bag was open, even just a little bit. I'd certainly call the 800 number on the box and I'd also return it to the store for a refund. Its a pain to do that, but thats what I've done and what I'd do again.

I don't see any problem with using it. If it looked like an animal got into it or bugs were in it then it would be another story.
