I have a craving for something sweet right now and I started thinking about wedding cake

What flavors did you choose for your wedding cake?

We choose chocolate cake and peanut butter cup mousse for the bottom layer, marble & mocha for the middle and choc. cake and pb cup mousse for the top.

I had requested certain flavors for our tasting and there was not one flavor I requested there. All the cakes tasted the same. I think from being refrigerated, they took on the flavor of whatever was in there with them. So the tasting wasn't much help. I just ordered what sounded good off the flavor list. I love Reese's so I am hoping I chose well.

DF and I are very picky..

Our is going to be:

Top: Marble and Bavarian Cream

Middle: Chocolate with Raspberry Mousse

Middle: Yellow and Bavarian Cream

Bottom: Marble and Bavarian Cream


Might cut out one of the Middle Layers since our guest list is dropping, so probably going to drop the Chocolate Layer --- I loved this but DF wasn't so thrilled.. I want to drop the Yellow and Bavarian Cream -- I think it seems boring..

I was very disappointed to find out Disneyland doesn't do the peanut butter mousse, since that's what I was craving. Any one of you cutting into your anniversary layer and want some help eating it?

Top Layer - Marble Cake & Peanut Butter Cup filling
Middle Layer - Yellow Cake & Orange Mousse
Bottom Layer - Marble Cake with Dark Chocolate Mousse and Fresh Rasberries.

I wanted to have the cake for my dinner.

We took the top layer and ate it for Greg's birthday a few days later.

we didn't have much of a choice but I asked the pastry chef if some almond was possible..so we had yellowcake with almond flavored buttercream. They served it with chocolate and vanilla sauce on the side to drizzle over...OH!! My kingdom for another slice!!!

Middle layer~ orange with orange mousse
Bottom layer~ chocolate cake with peanut butter cup mousse

I can't wait until our anniversary because I plan to order a small cake from the GF bakery. The hardest thing will be choosing which flavor we want again! Maybe we'll have to rotate for each anniversary

How was the peanut butter filling? I really want a coconut cake, but don't see that offered. Chocolate and peanut butter are another weakness of mine, but oddly enough I hate chocolate cake (and ice cream) but love everything else chocolate. I am also intrigued by the almond filling.

You might ask about coconut cake - I never even thought of it, but boy do I love it!

I think I might understand why you don't like chocolate cake and ice cream. They're never rich enough or chocolate-y enough for me. Chocolate cake, especially, is usually dry and flavorless. Our Disney chocolate cake wasn't dry, but it wasn't rich and fudgy either. The peanut butter cup filling was great, though, cuz it's a mix of chocolate and peanut butter mousses. So for you I might say to have that filling with a different flavor of cake - like maybe the chocolate chip cake that Lynn had!

It was so good! It is similar to what people would call a "traditional wedding cake flavor."

After reading this thread I had to go make cookies to get over the chocolate craving from this thread!! THere went the diet!

I want peanut butter in our cake, but Rob doesn't like peanut butter - isn't that sacrilege?!

Silly question here,
but with an Escape 2 layer cake, do you still take the top layer off and start on the bottom layer?
Trying to figure out which flavour for the guests and which for just us!!

We'd ideally like choc and peanut butter for us and almond and amaretto for the part we share with the guests.

Are we likely to be able to pay extra to upgrade to these flavours, as they're not all offered in the standard Escape list?
I think Lynn might have paid extra for her chocolate chips, so I'm hoping they'll let us do this too, although whether we can have 2 different flavours for the layers I'm not sure.

I can't actually remember what the options are for Escape flavours now, but I'm almost certain PB wasn't one of them

I asked my planner if fresh fruit was an option (bananas for one layer and strawberries for another) but she said she'll get back to me.

Our cake was:

Bottom Layer: Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate Mousse
Middle Layer: Orange Cake with Orange Mousse (my favorite)
Top Layer: Yellow Cake with Buttercream Icing filling.

All three were delicious and we got nothing but compliments on any of it.

We also asked for specific flavors for our cake tasting and got exactly what we wanted.
