Cake Filling

Okay this might seem like an odd question but what is Bavarian Cream, the name sounds delicious lol but I have never heard of it. I quite like the thought of having that with the fresh strawberries.

it is like a vanilla pastry cream...like you would have in cream puffs or eclairs (not the whipped cream filling).

It is VERY good with fresh fruit! One of our taster cakes was vanilla cake with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries...so good! However the passionfruit mousse beat out that cake b/c it was unbelievable...

My mom makes that combo often - white cake with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries...yum...

Ok so this may be the simplified version but it reminds me of what is in a bostom creme donut!!

Basically it is a pastry cream that is lightened with whipped cream and stabilized with a small amount of gelatin.

I was also going to say it is like the filling in a Boston Creme donut. I didn't really look over the cake options that hard because we both immediatley chose raspberry mousse with chocolate cake. We then found out we can have different flavoured layers for our cake and decided on almond cake with the raspberry mousse, but were stuck deciding on what to go with the chocolate cake. That's when my fiance asked "What is Bavarian Creme?" and I explained it was like the boston creme filling. I knew that is what we would be choosing as soon as I told him that because it is his favourite donut.

We had that as one of our flavors and it was delicious! My husband still talks about it and wants to get a small anniversary cake of that flavor next time we're in disney. I personally enjoyed the passionfruit the most, but the bavarian cream with fresh strawberries was a close second! Here's a picture of the inside, in case that might help you "visualize" the taste better! It was very moist, and the strawberries were very fresh!
