What were or are your cake costs per person? Just trying to get an idea of what it will be. Does anyone have photos of their cake they want to share?

Cakes are usually priced by the piece. A serving is 1" by 2". It can cost anywhere from $2.75 a slice, no average is about 4.50 a slice and up from there. 1 slice per person x your number of guests.
Good Luck.

Now is this custom price or the smaller wedding. What if I want a bigger cake? How much more would it cost me ?

Disney prices custom cakes pp. I think prices start at $8.50 a person, plus whatever service fee they are charging. Our cake was a custom designed one, I bought a picture of the cake I wanted to the planning session, and they recreated it for me. It cost $12.50 a person.

check out this link http://www.yourfairytale.com/cakes.html it has a ton of disney wedding cake pictures & the cake price list, its circa 2002 but will give you a good idea of what they offer. prices for the cakes do start at $8.50 per slice/person. intimate packages come with a small tier cake.

and speaking of cakes does anyone know if you can cater in a cake from offsite?

I couldn't stomach the $11.95 per person plus plus that they offered, so we nixed the cake and are having a yummy yummy dessert that chef Edwin created for me out of creme brulee and fruit, mmmmmmmmm, i can't wait!!!!

Its through disney. It is white chocolate.

The castle is a cake topper. Its normally placed on the Destination Castle cake which you can see in the ppt presentation twojo21 gave the link too. Some intimate brides have had it added to their cake as well. It cost us about $100 last year. Its made of white chocolate, but I haven't had the heart to eat it!

i was curoius..is 12.50 a norm for the cost per slice? I wonder what you can get for 8.50?

Also - for those of you having a dessert party right after your reception...how are you working the abundance of dessert situation! lol I can't imagine people eating cake and then going to eat treats outside for Iluminations! Is anyone not having a big cake for this reason?

The price per slice depends on the design of the cake... rather than on the type of cake and filling.

Our price is $8.50 per person for the small (50 person) desination castle cake. Plus $100 for the cake topper, so that effectively makes the price $10.50 per person.

Your cake per person cost is based on the difficulty of the cake design. A simply decorated cake with fondant or butter cream icing will be in the $8.50 range. More decorations, colors, etc. will up the cost. All fillings and sponge cake flavors (except fruitcake) are figured into the price. Disney does a per person price to insure there will be enough cake for all of your guests. If cost is a concern, ask about having your cake design done in the minimum guest count (50), and have an undecorated sheet cake retained in the kitchen that will be cut up and served with the displayed cake.

After checking with some area bakeries (Orlando), and some more famous cake decorators around the U.S., I see that Disney prices are at, or below the average. Keep in mind that the wedding cake department does ONLY wedding cakes, and have been for almost 10 years.Your end result will be excellent.

I had miniature wedding cakes served at my vow renewal’s dinner party: click here to see one of them.

The cakes were decorated with different colors of piping (green, orange, pink, etc.) for the little Mickey Mouse heads that were scattered about the cakes. I chose to keep the chocolate Mickey Mouse ears atop the cakes in a "black" color in honor of the Earful Tower at the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park (where my dinner party was held). Those chocolate ears could have been dyed in colors to match the Mickey Mouse heads.

On my final bill, the Mini-Wedding Cakes’ cost breakdown was as follows:

Mini-Wedding Cakes charge was $625 ($25 per cake x 25 guests = $625)
Sales Tax charge for Mini-Cakes was $40.63
Gratuity charge was $173.75
Sales Tax charge for Gratuity was $11.29

When all was said and done, the cost for 25 miniature wedding cakes came to $850.67. That works out to $34.03 a cake.
