I currently own at BWV (direct purchase) and OKW resell. My husband recently passed away and I am now looking at purchasing a 400 point contract direct with Disney. I would then try and sell off my other two contracts

Any pros and cons of purchasing the Poly Tower. This is a primarily a purchase for my adult children and grand children to use later in life but for now we all we would be using it for lots of disney trips. The grand babies are little so having a monorail resort is a plus.

First off, sorry for your loss.

Pros to buying Poly tower are high resale value, low dues, highly desirable location being on the monorail and walkability to TTC. Easy to rent because everyone wants to stay in a studio and long life remaining on the contract.

Cons are the price, among the highest point charts at WDW, crowded common areas, aging infrastructure of the longhouses. There's also been some concern about the build quality of Island Tower. Also limited 1/2BR units relative to the number of studios at the resort.

I'd strongly recommend breaking up the 400 points into equal amount contracts for your adult children to inherit if that is what you plan to do but also it may be worth asking if they have a preference on whether or not they would want this long term or would prefer cash but regardless it is obviously your money to do with as you please.

I would say the pros and cons are dependant on you and your family needs. If your children prefer Poly and the plan is for this to be theirs one day I say go for it. Our last purchase at Poly Tower was for our DD who is 19. DH and I probably would have gone with CCV since we couldn't get VGF at the time.

Yes the point cost is high at Poly but I think by 2042 when the original DVC resorts expire I believe they will be flipped back into DVC but the point charts will be really crazy high too.

If you’re dividing it up between 3 children I’d go with 3x150=450 total. So each contract holds the benefits, otherwise just get multiple resale contracts… or I was assuming it was 3 kids, if there is only 2 kids, than 150-200 each is fine. 8-)

If it were only 2 kids with 400 points, I'd do 2x150 and 2x50. 150 to lock in the direct benefits and 50 for ease of resale.

First off, thank you all for your replys. I liked the cost of the dues as I am currently paying high dues at bwv and okw. It is costly, but both my adult children love the poly and my grandkids are obsessed with Moana. Of course that is for now and they are young (4 and 2).

This has been a family discussion with them and they realize this is part of their inheritance and they are fully onboard with this. Those old contracts I have won’t be worth much down the road as more time go by. It is a lot to decide on but I like the idea of splitting into 2 150 contracts and 2 50 contracts. The current promotion is a good deal I think at $219 per point and 500 off for d23 membership which I got for free with Disney plus.

I am flying down on Tuesday to meet my guide and Doing a walk through of the property

Thank you again
