Sooo excited! My DH and I have been waiting for this episode, since we returned from Food & Wine the last weekend of the festival ! The Cake Boss appeared at Party for the Senses...where we enjoyed the cannoli's he was serving. I was in one of the shots, so hoping to see myself in the background ! Plus, a gentleman who shared our table, signed a waiver to appear on the progam - so we'll be looking for him as well ! Tune in -- the episdoe will air tonight, on TLC at 8pm Central......

BTW... his cannoli's were pretty darn good. As a full blooded Italian, I was quite impressed : )

He makes his daughter a huge castle Birthday cake with 4 princesses - Belle, Jasmine, Ariel & Mulan. I'd hate to see what Disney would charge for it!

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney charged less than him. He made our wedding cake this past July and he is very expensive but WELL WORTH IT!

That cake was impressive. During the first part of the show when they were visiting Ariel my daughter said "I guess your dad has to be famous to get to see Ariel." I about died laughing! Everytime we've been to the MK the sign at Ariel's Grotto says she'll be back in 60 min. We come back and come back, yet she's never there. And the sign still says she'll be there in 60 min. If I hadn't seen her on TV, I wouldn't have believed she existed at all.

I DVR'd it and realized that I need to cut back on the Kool Aid.:lmao:

All of the little 'wrongs' in shooting bugged me, but it really irked me during a "sequential" shot of the family leaving the MK (talking about getting back to the bakery to finish their cake), they had a shot of them walking away from the castle, they cut in with another shot and they were walking away from the train station on Main St (while saying "we had to get back to finish the cake" ) Thankfully I had a good chuckle at myself. :lmao:

We enjoyed watching...Thought it was funny that they kept showing him in different parks one right after the other, all in the same clothing...DH commented on how his family got the "royal treatment" by walking right up to the characters in the parks...That cake was amazing...

Question: How many of you would have taken several hours from your trip to Disney to do something like that for your child if you could and she asked?
I know it was all part of the show but I really wonder how many of us would really do that.

My DH and I watched it last night and laughed our butts off. What I thought was funny was that they went to POFQ to make the cake. I told my DH, if I was a baker like him, I would want to be either at BW Bakery or GF bakery, which it seemed like he ended up being at because that is where his DD's party was. Oh well, it was still a great show regardless. I also loved how the BIL was afraid of BTMRR. :rotfl:

I watched it last night, mainly because he was at Disney. The cake was amazing!

Like some others posted, it bugged me that he was in different parks wearing the same clothes, but then he'd have to leave to go work on the cake. Then, he'd go back to a park...then he'd leave to go work on the cake.....You get the idea!

They definitely got some special treatment---Did you notice when the rode BTMR there was no one on the ride except their family? Must be nice!

I thought that they were at the Yacht Club to make the cake? When Danny was late I remember them yelling at him that there was only one Yacht Club.

Like I said, I need to back away from the Kool Aid :lmao:

I thought they were at the Yacht Club too. They were using a pastry sampling kitchen or something.

And I would totally expect them to get special treatment. I mean the show is promoting Disney. :goodvibes

The cake was great. I love the show. I plan on going to his bakery one day soon. But so much of teh show seems sooooo staged but I still watch!

I watched and I wanted Cannoli's.Did you see yourself.:happytv: That's exciting if you did we were able to be on the Christmas Parade taping from The Seas 2 years ago, you would have thought we hit the Lottery.

:yay: I can't wait for Travel Channel w/ Samantha Brown Wed. 8 pm love that gal!!

i am so bummed i missed this episode! i kept seeing the preview on tlc and had to work till 10 last night!!

We enjoyed it too. I think initially they went to POFQ - saying Disney had arranged for them to use one of their kitchens - seemed a weird location. However, when the cannoli's were delivered, seemed to me that it was to a service entrance (maybe at the back of Epcot's WS). You could see the Beach Club in the background. And Epcot service entrance is really close to the road that takes you to the BC -

Was nice to see Disney - would have loved to see them coming off of Expedition Everest or ToT or Aerosmith.

When Danny was late they were at the Yacht Club, but at the very beginning of the show, just after his DD begged him to make her cake the Cake Boss and his BIL were both walking up to POFQ and next I new they were in a kitchen talking to one of the Disney Pastry Chefs :confused3 (I kind of assumed they were still at POFQ, guess I was wrong). In the scene with the Cake Boss and his BIL (sorry I forget the names) walking into POFQ, I noticed the front entrance with the two huge coin things above it. It just seemed like they were doing a lot of jumping around so it was hard to figure out where they actually were every time.

No, I didn't see myself ! We taped it though....so I am going to rewind. Our table was right by him, and the producers had me go into the shot... so I had a chance, but no go! Next time!!! :cloud9:

I couldn't figure out if POFQ or Yacht Club - but seems they must have done the cake at Yacht Club since that's where Danny was it?... met them at.
POFQ - I'm thinking maybe they stayed there? And then showed the guys walking from their rooms on their way out of POFQ (they had to stop at resorts to put their chef outfits on) and then on their way to the YC? that's the only way them being at POFQ made sense to me.

Then thought, well, both were families of 5.... would think would be staying in a deluxe, but if POFQ would have had to have had 2 rooms per family.

The editing did crack me up... MK, then they're on Test Track in same clothes, then back to MK again.

I certainly wouldn't want to take time out of my trip to be making a cake for my kid - would rather be spending the time with my kid - especially seeing how cute she was, her excitement over the princesses! Loved how she RAN up to all of them, too sweet!

Answer: "No way. Maybe when we get home. After all, I already brought you to Disney. Now go have fun."

I'm sure they were told to wear the same clothes everyday assuming they were at WDW multiple days. They probably knew there would be massive editing to create some sort of plot and storyline for the episode, and the constant wardrobe changes would have been a big distraction. Hopefully nightly laundry service was among the VIP perks!
