The episode Monday night will be from when the crew went down for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. They will also be vacationing with their families.

Awesome! I just love watching Buddy! That should make for a fun show!!!

Buddy really gets on my nerves sometimes, have to turn him off because he's so loud. Carlo's Bakery's (Cake Boss) specialty cakes designs have improved over the past year = especially liked the Sesame Street cake, my favorite one so far. Their traditional cakes are much nicer (the bridal magazine spread). Prior to that I don't think they were much to compare to the work of Charm City (Ace of Cakes). I still prefer to watch Duff and the gang on FoodNetwork, but will look forward to the Disney episode with Buddy's crew.

I don't think I have ever watched Cake Boss but I do like Duff and use to watch his show all the time. I can't pass up a show about Disney :)

I stopped watching Cake Boss when I realized that they stage some of their "incidents." I was watching an episode when he was having 2 of his workers take a cake down the stairs when the cake "slipped" off the board and came apart. It was a stacked cake. I was shocked to see that he had not put dowels through the cake to keep the layers together. This is when I knew that this had been staged. You would never stack a cake without dowels.

Most of his cakes are made with rice crispies (like the rice crispies bars you make with marshmellows). I know it is hard to design a cake, but everytime I watch his show, he is cutting away rice crisipies.

...what time is it on?? I know it's on TLC, but is it the episode titled "Castles, Cannolis and..."???

I still watch, but its obvious they stage some of their scenes. In the NASCAR episode, when they drove down to Charlotte, its impossible to get lost like they did. It's interstate the whole way. There is no reason for them to be on back roads in Amish country for that trip.

Still, I enjoy Buddy and his crew more than the people on Ace of Cakes.

I'll still watch especially since it's Disney related. I think most reality type shows are staged to some degree. I do prefer Ace of Cakes though.

I prefer Duff as well. I do wonder, though, about Buddy's sister Mary. Is she really that big of a pain in the youknowwhat or is it an act?

Oh yeah....lots of it is staged! However, I still think it is a great show. The Jersey Italian "Mi Familia" thing may be played up a bit, but you can't fake that too much and I think it's fun! Also, who cares if they stage it all---the cakes end up looking great and that's the fun of the show.

P.S. I also like the fact that Buddy is always so positive about the cakes. Every episode he's all "They loved it!" "They went wild!" "Her eyes just lit up!"

You know....if anyone can feel so confident, positive, and enthusiastic about their work (even when it is staged), I find it refreshing!

The thing that impressed me the most tonight (as long as there weren't elves working behind the scenes) was the fact that he actually made the cake instead of just designing it. He has a huge team of helpers when they are in the bakery.

I had to laugh at the editing... they're on Test Track, then boom, on Big Thunder, then boom, in Epcot again. My, my, what a lot of park hopping:)

So where did they bake the cake at? They showed them at POFQ - me and my girls love it there and were like AHHHHH, they're at POFQ!! But then ended up at Yacht Club.
Was fun watching him make the cake, but would have liked to have seen more of them in Disney. His daughter was precious, her excitement over seeing the different princesses!

...I thought it was realistic...that's how I feel when I go on vaca to WDW with MY family...:confused3

Every time he said "Diziney World", I thought DH was going to scream.
