When we were at WDW back in November we saw the Cake Boss. I have been watching the TLC Website for when the episode might be on and just found it.

Monday, Feb 8 @ 9PM

I love Cake Boss too. I laughed last night when they got lost headed to SC. for the Nascar show. It was funny seeing the Carlos Bakery truck by a field of cows. :rotfl2: When he had to follow the horse & buggy.... I lost it.:lmao:

oh my god - cake boss is like a train wreck - i can't stand it and if i were a customer in the store listening to them yell and scream at each other like that i'd leave but i can't seem to turn it off.

i just keep saying to dh - if they are really that good (and they are) why can't the make a show highlighting their talent and cakes and now how poorly they speak to each other and what a horrible boss Buddy is.

oh well - train wrecks sells (hi Britney and Lindsay lol)

Thanks so so much for sharing!! I must TiVo it!

I think a lot of that is staged. It seems like they are getting nastier to each other as time goes by. They seemed nicer in the earlier episodes, and lately the looks on some of the employees faces like they're about to laugh when Buddy goes off on them, it just doesn't seem real to me.

Which is too bad, because I liked the show better when there wasn't as much yelling and they did highlight the cakes more. :sad2:

I've been there a few times, and no one is ever yelling. Even the "bratty" nephew was sweet when doing crowd control at the door.

Thanks for posting this. We saw the shoot and the cake in November too, but didn't see anyone from the show. My kids have been wondering when the episode would be on.

ITA, do we really believe the guys dropped the cake down the stairwell? And then were able to recreate it, exact flavors and design in two hours? There have been many other times when DH and I look at each other and roll our eyes. I vastly prefer Ace of Cakes, not nearly so much drama and likable people.

See, dh and I think those guys on Ace of Cakes always seem stoned! :happytv: That one is just too dull for me.

Oh fun!! I'm going to set the DVR.

Oh and I agree, the Ace of Cakes crowd always seems a little stoned. :rolleyes1

That's exactly what my 10 year old says. She and I were watching Cake Boss last week and she turned to me and said "I really don't like this show any more, it's not fun, they're just mean to each other"

I won't support or watch a show where people treat each other so badly. I skip all the trump shows too and the mean restaurant guy.

We saw the commercial tonight for this - can't wait to watch next week! My girls LOVE this show!
Two weeks ago we took the hour drive to Hoboken to go there. They got a kick out of seeing everyone from the show there, and we brought home a little cake - yum! The girls did say they liked this cake much better than the GF one we had at our 1900 Park Fare dinner.

For some reason, I always want cannolis after watching this show. But it really irritates me too. The constant shouting and fighting is just not a good "hook" for them to use. The fake drama is far too staged, and Buddy's attitude just grates on you after a while.

The bride who "ruined" her own wedding cake with all the various frostings was on facebook a while ago, and had pictures of her "final" wedding cake that was done by Carlo's Bakery. There were many comments telling her what a B she was, and she could only reply that the producers had set it up. She actually didn't mind the first cake they'd done.

I was oh so shocked when i read about that

I watched last night but it wasn't Disney.:confused3

Next Monday for Disney.

And I agree that the drama is getting a little over the top. There was a show last week or the week before where Mary sold a full crumb cake to someone. I can't imagine that seriously happening. First off, the shop front is so small that there is no way you can hide a box that large going out the front door. Second, they've worked there for their entire lives. She would know that a fully boxed crumb cake was a special order. Otherwise, they keep much smaller versions in the front showcase or individual slices on the racks behind them. I should know. Their crumb cake is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!

THANKS! I can only handle one day at a time right now.
