Part 12 Wednesday, August 4, 2004 Lounge Lizard Mini-Meet and Fireworks Cruise
I rested a little while Suzanne and the boys went to the pool. Now I was ready for my dinner with my fellow lounge lizards at Ohanas. This mini-meet was anopportunity to meet some of the most helpful, fun nice, kind and generous people in the world .fellow DISers! Once I started planning this trip, I started lurking on the DIS boards. I frequented the Whos been bitten by the Concierge Bug thread quite often. When we realized that several people were going to be in the World at the same time, we decided to try to get together so that we could meet one another face to face. BT and SteveandDonna made all the wonderful arrangements for dinner at Ohanas and a fireworks cruise. I was the only one going to Ohanas for dinner out of my party of 7. One of the teenage girls was very disturbed by this. She was very concerned for my physical safety. She told me Dont you know that you arent supposed to talk to STRANGERS on the internet?! Who should we call to come get Chris if you dont return? She would/could not accept the fact that these folks were just like minded Disney aficionados like myself. Well I went to dinner and had a fabulous time. The food was great and the company was even better. This was my first time to eat at Ohanas, and I am ready to go back again. I loved everything I ate (which was just about everything). I truly enjoyed talking with everyone that had been so helpful in planning this wonderful trip. After dinner, I went to gather Chris, Suzanne and Andrew for the cruise. (The rest of the gang would meet us for e-night at the park later.)
We boarded the pontoon boat with everyone, and headed out for a tour of Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Captain Joel told us all kind of interesting trivia and tidbits about different places/things around the area. We surprised him with our expertise of all things Disney (He didnt have a clue as to what kind of Disney fans he was dealing with! Also Captain Joel the East (Quiet) Pool at the Poly actually does have a No Diving sign now!) After the tour, we settled into a spot to watch the fireworks over the castle. As we preparing to watch Wishes from the lake, Captain Joel and Omar his assistant (his first voyage!) handed out desserts and drinks to all compliment of BT and SteveandDonna. We arent talking just any desserts either. We had Cinderella Slippers for the adults and Dirt Pots for the boys. They were absolutely heavenly! Thank you BT and SteveandDonna!!! After Wishes was over we headed back to the Poly dock, took some pictures and said our goodbyes. We then headed to the room for a potty break and then it was off to our second e-night!
