Part 11 Wednesday, August 4, 2004 EPCOT
Today was early entry day at EPCOT. The girls were not moving too fast so me, Suzanne and the boys walked over to the Ticket & Transportation Center (TTC) to board the EPCOT monorail. This walk was much shorted than I had anticipated, since it looked like a long walk on the map. We asked to sit in the front of the monorail, and were granted the permission to do so. What a spectacular ride to be in the front of the monorail as it heads into EPCOT. It was a bright sunny morning, when we rounded the curve to pass through EPCOT by Spaceship Earth and a few of the pavilions. We got some great photos here. When we got to EPCOT, we only had to wait about five minutes to get in. Of course our priority on this day was to do Test Track and Mission Space. So Suzanne and the boys went to Test Track and got in line, and I went get fast passes for Mission Space. It took a few minutes to get our passes as I normally get in the line that someone is having difficulties in , and that was the case today. I couldnt find them in line, so I jumped in the Single Rider Line which posted a 5 minute wait. Well that was a wrong time. It took me about half an hour to reach the ride. I had trouble getting through to the others on the walkie talkies, but they had waited for me at the top of the line just before you are loaded into the pre show. The boys love Test Track, but I feel like I drive it everyday on my way to and from work. So now it was on to Mission Space. I had heard so many HORROR stories about this ride, and they truly do tell you every few seconds to not ride the ride if you get motion sickness, but we were bound and determined to do this. Well, I dont get what the fuss is all about. We had a blast! Of course none of have real motion sickness issues (and to me it is like a big video game). We all played the interactive game as you come out of the ride, and did a little shopping in the gift shop. Larry and the girls met us here, as we had a PS for Le Cellier at 11:05. We headed there from Mission Space. This was one of the best meals. Everyone there was very friendly good service and good food. We were so stuffed that we skipped the Ice Cream Social that we had scheduled for the afternoon. After that we went to my FAVORITE --- FIGMENT! I have loved Figment from the first time I saw him on my very first trip to Disney World. After this we sent a few postcards and then used our surprise fast pass from Mission Space to go on Honey I Shrunk he Audience. We like this show. Larry and the girls had not seen it. Needless to say the girls were not amused when things went past their feet. (Even though it was just pretend). After this, we did a little shopping and headed back to the hotel. I needed a cat nap before the scheduled mini-meet of the lounge lizards.
