Cafe Orleans questions

Does Cafe Orleans really not serve the gumbo anymore? It looks like the current menu just shows "seasonal soup". Where else can I get a good gumbo at Disneyland? I think I remember hearing that there's gumbo served in a bread bowl somewhere...

On allears.net, there's mention of a split plate charge of $4, but I don't see it on other sites. Assuming this is an actual fee, can anyone clarify when it's charged? It sounds like they don't want people sharing entrees, but I thought that was generally accepted at Disney.

Thanks in advance!

I think the gumbo is the seasonal soup. My husband ordered it last month at Cafe Orleans.

The split charge is if you want them to split the entree and give both plates sides. If you just share (it's ok to ask for an extra plate) the entree and sides then they do not charge extra.

In the past the gumbo was always available. It is very good and I hope this change is temporary. Change is fine as long as it's an improvement but sometimes I think Disney just changes things for the the sake of change.

Ok, that makes sense. I don't think the monte cristo has sides anyway, so we're good.

The gumbo was/is the seasonal soup. Who knows if they plan on changing it, I was so relieved as its my favorite dish! We split a dish - we just asked for a extra plate - there was no charge for that as someone else has posted :)
