Cafe Orleans closed Jan 27, 28, 29

Ugh, on top of all the other closures, I just got a call telling me they had to cancel my cafe Orleans res as it will be closed for three days during my trip I was so looking forward to having that monte cristo sandwich I know, I know, my trip isn't ruined, but that and world of color were the two things I was looking forward to the most.

I agree, it sucks (Cafe Orleans is my favorite DLR restaurant) but you could still have the same monte cristo at Blue Bayou. Can they get you a lunch reservation there?

We will be there Jan. 27-31 too. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MANY CLOSURES!!! I have had a positive attitude, but seriously??? I have wondered if I should write to management? Maybe they should give us a ticket discount…….

We have a dinner res there at blue bayou but the monte cristo isn't on the menu for dinner. I'll probably try to change it to lunch, but it's annoying that I now have to pay $25 for that sandwich instead of $18(which already sounded like a lot for a sandwich).

I'm tagging along on my bffs work trip, but if this was a full family vacation, I'd probably cancel! I'm coming from the east coast, so it will probably be another 15 yrs before getting back. I'm sure it will still be a great trip, but there's just so many closures it's disappointing.

I'm with you. I prefer Cafe Orleans (the pommes frites are TDF!) but at the Blue Bayou you do get something extra for the additional cost. They have a wonderful bread/biscuit service at the beginning of the meal, and you get a soup or salad with your monte cristo, plus wonderful fruit skewers with high quality fruit (i.e. berries, kiwi, etc., not the grapes you get at Cafe Orleans). Also, there are 3 dipping sauces for your monte cristo instead of just one. I think you'll enjoy trying a monte cristo in the other place for once!

The price of the monte cristo at BB for lunch is about the same as the price of pommes frites + monte cristo at Cafe Orleans, and the amount of food is about the same. I think if you include all of that, you'll find it comparable.

I wonder what happened since it still lets you book online..maybe that system is just behind though

Though we don't eat often at Cafe Orleans the food is awesome and i'd be sad too.
