The new company will still be named Caesar's, however just as it was when Harrah's bought out Caesar's years ago.

El Dorado has a large presence in Reno, but not Las Vegas until now that is and has several properties all over the United States

The deal still has to be approved.

Just Caesars? Or the entire company? Any chance the new owners might start a trend of eliminating resort fees?

The entire company. From what I gather the big thing is that Eldorado is paying a certain amount AND assuming about that much in debt.

As far as resort fees go, I remember back when Harrah's as a company (before the merger) would ridicule other casino hotels for charging resort fees.

It's also kind of odd now. We've had reduced rates because we've gambled, and I remember some of those stays resort fees weren't charged although they were mentioned in the reservations. Recently I stayed in Vegas on business and even though our base rate averaged about $45/night (it was a really good rate compared to almost everyone else) at the SLS, the resort fee was about $32 a night. And since I stayed there and they have my email address, I've been sent their promotional messages, including one that says they have a special deal now where a reservation made before July 7 will be free of resort fees. Stays are up to Dec 31.

And speaking of SLS, I heard that they're going to name it Sahara again.
