Couldn't decide on a title, so I'm using both! :thumbsup2

Welcome! My name is Nina, and this is a TR for my last Disney World trip! This was about my 28th trip, but it was incredibly special because it was my daughter’s FIRST trip! I’ve looked forward to this for many years before my daughter was even born. I planned for months before the trip what I wanted to do with my DD there. We didn’t get to do all that I planned, but the trip was amazing! Onto the cast of characters!

My dd, Cadence! We call her Cady for short. She was 8 months old for the trip, but is now about to celebrate her 1st birthday this weekend. Rapunzel is her princess. She loves Minnie Mouse, Pinocchio, Aladdin, and Marie from The Aristocats. Her bedroom is Alice in Wonderland themed. This may be a little TMI, but Cady was “made” at Disney World when me and my husband went in April ’10.

This is me. I’m 29, and clean houses for a living. My Dh of almost 3 years doesn’t make an appearance on this trip. He’s not a Disney person. BOOOOO. I’ve been a Disney fanatic since I was born. My first bedroom had Disney characters drawn all over the walls, thanks to my uncle. My fave characters are Belle, Chip n’ Dale, Clopin, Donald Duck, and many more.

My dad, John, who can make friends with just about anybody. His Disney mission is to make cast members feel special, so he goes around talking to CMs and taking pictures with them. He also gets free stuff handed to him constantly, the lil' fart!
DSCN8908.jpg

My mom, Denise. Her love of Disney brings out the kid in her! She's a huge Tinker Bell fan.

My best friend for 12 years, Alicia, who is my Disney soul mate! We met on a forum for the Disney movie "Newsies" when I was 17 and she was 15. She lives about an hour and a half north of Orlando.

Alicia's mom, Sandy, who is just crazy fun to be around!

I'm in! Looks like a fun, Disney loving group!

I have a niece named Cadence (also nicknamed Cady) who is just a few months older than your Cady, so I was drawn in immediately by your title! :)

It was a beautiful morning for our traveling day!

Forgot to mention, we all live a little north of the Mississippi coast. It takes about 9 hours for us to drive to Disney World. We usually leave around 5 a.m. on past trips, but we decided it'd be best not to rush so much since we were traveling with a baby. Around 8 o'clock we were headed out. Not sure how we fit all our baggage in my folks' jag.

IMAG0676.jpg

And in just a few miles Cady was out like a light!

IMAG0677.jpg

Our first stop was in Gulfport to get some breakfast at McDonalds, and we didn't stop again until Mobile, AL. Cady had a dirty diaper and boy, you could smell it! I didn't know the diaper had leaked, so when I carried her to the bathroom it got all over me. EWW! :headache:

We had a mini-photoshot while getting gas.

We were back on the road again.

106_1590.jpg

Can't remember what town we stopped for lunch, but it was somewhere in the Florida panhandle. We ate at Wendy's. Thankfully there was a nice large patch of grass in the parking lot. Cady got to crawl around and stretch her cute little legs. And in our usual fashion, we had another mini-photoshoot!

Back on the road! It was a pretty uneventful. We all took turns entertaining Cady. She had a few rough times where she was really hating the car seat. We were staying at Alicia's house that night. We arrived around 8 p.m. Her mom had supper waiting for us!

No early bedtime for us, even though we probably should have! It was probably midnight before we all turned in anticipating our first day at Disney

Thanks for stopping in! Awww...another Cady! Awesome :goodvibes

Hiya neighbor! Just found your TR and glad I did. Also glad there are other Disney lovers here in South Mississippi! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to the rest of the report.

We left off with our traveling day coming to an end with staying at my friend, Alicia's, house. After getting the car all packed up and saying temporary good-byes, we were off to Disney!

Cady was very excited, as you can see :rotfl:
DSCN8139.jpg

A little over an hour later we were pulling into the Disney gates! There's nothing like driving through the Disney Hotel Village then seeing Downtown Disney for the first time. Snapped pics on the way to Pop Century.

We arrived!

This was about our 6th or 7th time staying at Pop. It's our home value resort. Port Orleans Riverside is our moderate home resort. One day I hope to have a deluxe home resort! We always stay in the '80's section. Next time I think we might try another section. Time to change things up. I actually checked us in this time. Good thing I did. I haggled with the friendly CM that checked us in. She tried her darnest to get us in a bottom room, but alas! it wasn't meant to be.

After many phone calls, the CM finally found us a room in the '80's section that was on the 2nd floor right next to the elevator looking out at the pool. Good enough!

Cady got to attend her first check in.

The friendly CM named Petra.

We had to wait for the room to get ready, so we were off to Magic Kingdom!

It was a beautiful day! Cady loved the bus ride. We got in line for bag check.

My dad struck up a conversation with the lady in the wheelchair. She was so funny! He told her Cady was too young to ride the rides. The lady said she was too "short" to ride the rides. It makes the trip extra special when you meet such nice people.

And we're in!

106_1646.jpg

I had a time getting Cady's sun screen extender on her stroller. I got the hang of it after a few times of taking it on and off. The extender was a great idea. I'm so glad I bought it!

I was absolutely starving and had my sights set on Colunbia Harbour House. As we were walking toward it, we talked to an awesome CM. We talked to him for like 15 minutes. I think his name tag read "Seth", but he said he felt bad for wearing the wrong tag and put his real name tag on, which was "Eric" I think. He just adored Cady.

106_1649.jpg

On our way to Harbour House...I snapped pics while shooting video. I love this shot of the castle!

Great job so far! Cady is so adorable! I totally identify you saying you dreamed of taking your future child years before you had her... I am the same way! I think about that a lot, what it will be like to take my kids.

I hope one day soon you'll be able to take your future children to Disney! It really is a dream come true. :goodvibes

Warning, the first paragraph is a rant!

We finally made it to Columbia Harbour House. My stomach hurt so much from being hungry. I got in line, but my folks didn't. I got out of line and asked what they were waiting on. Dad told me they didn't want Harbour House. I was so angry! Why didn't they tell me before we got there is beyond me. I got very upset because of that and the fact that when I'm that hungry my blood sugar drops and I get extremely irritable. My folks know this, but they were all shocked at me being upset. They said they'd just eat Pecos Bill's, but I could still get Harbour House. I walked out the restaurant, but somehow they coaxed me back in and I got my food.

It was one of those moments you're not proud of at all, but it could of easily been avoid if they had told me beforehand. Anyways, onto happier things now!

Got my food and we sat upstairs. We had discovered Harbour House on the last trip. I always knew it was there, but never tried it. The clam chowder is amazing!!! :thumbsup2 And it's very peaceful upstairs.

DSCN8730.jpg

After I ate, my folks ran off to Pecos Bills. I stayed behind to feed Cady.

We packed up after she finished her bottle and walked over to Pecos Bill's. It was incredibly hard carrying a baby and taking pictures while walking.

When I stopped to take a pic of this bird, a lady stopped and asked if it was real. This is not the first time I've heard someone ask that question about a real animal at Disney!

My folks had gotten a turkey leg from a wagon then fries and a drink from Pecos Bill's. Sorry no pics. I wanted a pic of Cady with the turkey leg, but it was so crazy with us losing each other that I never got one.

Up next: the wildest ride in the wilderness!

Your trip report reminds me of the 1st time we took our daughter to Disney when she was only 14 months old.

I will warn you though if you start them early they keep wanting to go back .:rotfl2: My daughter is now almost 5 and she is always asking when we are next going to Florida. Not that that bothers me mind you I would go all the time if I could.

I can relate to you having more "Love" for Disney than your spouse as my wife would be happy if we only went once every 5 years or so.:confused3

But now I have an ally in my daughter so we have actually been 4 times (with a 5th coming up this May) since she was born. :thumbsup2

Thanks for stopping in! :yay:

LOL! There's no worry about her asking to go back. My folks and I go once a year, twice if we can! I've been blessed with my folks being able to afford it that much especially now that my daughter is around, because when I was growing up, we couldn't afford to go to Disney like that.

My husband said he wouldn't go back until Cady is old enough to ride the thrill rides, but maybe she'll coax him into coming with us again in a couple years when she's able to talk ;)

The first ride on our first day at Magic Kingdom was...!!!

DSCN8746.jpg

Dad said he'd sit it out with Cady. We weren't sure how the whole baby swap thing worked. I think we only got a swap pass once and we didn't even need it. :confused3

Snapped a ton of pics while standing in a 20 minute line.

I think me and mom sat in the very last car. We seem to get that one more than the first car. Here's me with crazy windblown hair.

106_1667.jpg

We didn't have a whole bunch of time left before our ADR at Cape May Cafe. I was itching for Cady to ride her first ride ever, so we trekked over to POTC. When I was 8-months pregnant with her, we visited WDW. POTC was the first ride I rode on that trip.

Sadly, the two firsts would not be. Cady fell alseep on the walk over there! Mom stayed out this time with her. No ride pics this time. Cady was wide awake when we got off, of course!

DSCN8759.jpg

Not sure what's going on here, but that's my dad for ya.

This dude was tall!
DSCN8756.jpg

Up next is a first character meet for Cady and a sudden flood!

As we were about to leave the POTC area, I saw Pirate Goofy coming out. The line became long like in an instant, but we got in line anyway. Cady was a bit cranky when we got up there. I think she was tired and possibly hungry, so she didn't like Goofy as much as I hoped. Though she liked all the other characters we met!

I'm really enjoying reading about you trip, and your daughter is such a cutie:goodvibes

Looking forward to more

As we walked through Adventureland to the front of the park, it started raining. What's funny about Florida rain is that it doesn't start with just a drizzle then get hard...it gets hard in an instant! We slipped into Casey's and stopped in the beginning of the Emporium. That's when I realized I forgot Cady's paci. She was getting cranky again and I didn't want to be on a bus with my baby crying.

So, I did a first for me and visited the baby room! It was honestly a bit creepy. There were 4 CMs in the hallway leading to the baby room. They were just standing there staring at us. It didn't help that the hallway had creepy old pictures hanging in it (not even gonna hit that subject about my phobia).

Anyways, finally one of the CMs asked us if we needed anything and I asked about buying a paci. They had a good bit of baby stuff, and I was glad to see that just in case we needed anything else during the trip.

It was starting to flood when we got out of there.

DSCN8784.jpg

DSCN8788.jpg

We waddled through the hoards of people coming in front the rain. Even the Dapper Dans were inside performing. We stopped to watch them for a minute.

106_1671.jpg

DSCN8789.jpg

The rain wouldn't let up, so we bought a poncho to put over Cady's stroller and an umbrella for us. The umbrella didn't do much good, but oh well.

We were the only ones on the bus to Yacht and Beach Club. Woot!

Off to Cape May Cafe!

It's update time again! I was sick over the weekend with a stomach virus. Not fun at all. Not being able to pick up Cady was so heartbreaking. She just looked at me and cried and cried. My poor baby! But my DH was awesome and did his daddy duties splendidly. :goodvibes

Anyways, we left off with our little gang headed to the Yacht and Beach on an empty bus while it's pouring down rain. I broke out a box of these...

DSCN8246.jpg

Never bought them before, but I will be buying more on future trips! These little cookies are delicious! It was actually Cady's first cookie ever. She enjoy them. Notice Cady had a lot of first on this trip and this is just the first day!

We're here!

DSCN8790.jpg

I don't ever recall walking through the Yacht Club before. It's pretty darn fancy! Think I prefer the Beach Club. :upsidedow It was an awful long walk there too.

Of course, I walked around and took pics!

We were buzzed and gathered all our bags to go in. I left the stroller against the wall by the restaurant with just a few other strollers.

The folks and I have been eating at Cape May since I was 8 years old. That's over two decades! My dad loves the clams. That's really the only reason he goes. I used to eat the apple pie (before they got rid of it) by the platefuls. The last time we ate there I was pregnant and stuffed myself so bad I couldn't breathe. Seriously, Cady ate well that night and probably gained a full pound. :rotfl:

This time it was good, but not pop-your-belly good. Here's some food pics.

I do enjoy the oreo bonbons WAY too much. I ate many of those...lol.

DSCN8821.jpg

DSCN8822.jpg

We were a little disappointed with the meal, but there were things we did enjoy like the oreo bonbons, clams, and bread (drool-worthy!). We probably won't be going back for the next few trips. We found a new favorite, but I won't reveal that until later. ;)

Remember I mentioned there were only a few strollers by the wall when we went in? When we came out, there was a mass of strollers! I had to literally climb over strollers to get to ours that was against the wall. Very awkward moment.

It was raining again, but we didn't want to waste anymore time since it was after 6 p.m. So, we braved the rain and walked to Epcot!

It was raining cats and dogs as we walked to Epcot.

We made it the International Gateway soaking wet. You can tell by how much rain was falling with what was coming out the gutters.

That didn't stop me from taking pictures from underneath the umbrella! Cady was all dry under the rain poncho.
