Hey all you dis veterans & florida residents,
Hopefully someone can tell me what the standard cab fare is for the MCO & WDW area for 1 minimum or 4 max people.
Only wanting to go under 5 miles one way.
Also are there usually cabs around the entrance to the parks at closing time?? Are they Reputable???

Thanks for the help

Where in WDW?
Disney occupies 42 square miles plus. The resorts and theme parks are spread out over this vast land. First of all, depending which direction you’re coming from Orlando airport you would have to travel anywhere from 15 to 18 miles to get to one of the entrances. Once at Disney, you would drive few more miles to get to your resort. Therefore the cab fare would then be from $40.00 to $45.00 near the entrance area resorts to $50.00 -$55.00 or even more to the once that are too far out; such as MK resorts, All star Resorts and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Most of the cabs operating inside Disney are owned and operated by Mears. They are there all the time. Personally, I like to think they're reputable. They run meter to determine their fee.
Good Luck
Andy

I don't have the exact fare schedule.....but if memory serves.....MCO-WDW (MK area) w/tip about $ 55

5 miles on property about $ 8

Cabs at resorts are all 'safe' cabs (meaning they adhere to the uniform fares)....I think the only area you might find cabs that are independent of the "yellow" cab rates might be a DTD. If in doubt ask a CM.

Hope this helps yer! :)

Thanks that does give me some info,
Andyn,
Sorry I wasn't more specific, what I am looking for in a cab ride from the parks to our hotel off property the radisson parkway
only a few miles away,
they do have free transportation but don't know how that will work out and want to have another option.

A number of years ago, I stayed at the Hyatt Orlando (same driveway as the Radisson Parkway, and took cabs from Downtown Disney to the Hyatt. Two times the fare was $13 and once $18 -- different route, the guy was trying to get more $!!.

we are staying just 5 min away from MCO
at the orlando airport marriott hotel
wanting to go 8.5 miles 16 min. to
jimmy buffetts margaritaville rest.
you think 13.00 to 18.00 each way for 4 of us yes ?

or no ? cmatt

also what cab co did you choose ?

I did a little digging since I knew I had posted the rates a little while ago. Found the post and copied the rates for you. The price can vary not only by the route the taxi takes, but also by how much standing time it might have to do (ie at traffic lights). These are for the cabs owned by mear which is a good majority (ie, Osceola yellow cab, Orange yellow cab and a couple of others.)

It cost $2.00 for the first 2/7 of a mile or for 80 seconds of wait time, so if you take more than 80 seconds to load your luggage, you are already spending $2.00 and it is then .25 per 1/7 of a mile or 40 seconds of wait time. All that can add up. And as was pointed out, if you hit traffic or lots of lights, it keeps costing you.

(edited to add, you probably won't be loading luggage from WDW unless you do a LOT of shopping while at the parks, but the original post I put this in was regarding the airport.)

in reguards to cab fares hope you can answer my ?

thanks cmatt
