Does anyone know if the cabs around WDW accept credit cards as payment? I typically don't travel with a lot of cash, but I will need to take a cab 2 or 3 times during my next trip so I want to make sure I have enough cash if that is the only form of payments cabs accept.

It would be a good idea to have cash just in case.

Most cabs officially take credit cards but once in awhile the driver says he can't get the credit card to work.

All credit card companies say in the contract of carriage , er, whatever the fine print is called, that they are not responsible if a merchant or vendor refuses to accept the card.

Despite that, there are some stories where either or both the rider and the driver have gotten into an argument over that.

By the way you should have enough cash to pay the restaurant tab or whatever after you get to your destination, although I don't know where to draw the line about how much cash to set out with in the morning in the rare event that everyone declines your card.

Very few people carry enough cash to cover their hotel bill. Rental agencies won't accept a cash deposit. I agree it's a good idea to have enough cash to cover a taxi or a snack in the airport. A meal in a signature restaurant will cost a few hundred dollars for a family. I don't agree people need to, or even should, carry $300 cash with them.

Yes, I definitely won't be carrying hundreds of dollars around WDW, but I will be sure to have enough to cover cab fare. :thumbsup2
