I've been lurking around for a couple weeks trying to decide if we should head to Cable Beach or Atlantis when we're in Nassau in June. We're travelling with a big group so there are a lot of different interests involved.

If we book rooms at the Comfort Suites can we use ALL the amenities at Atlantis including the pools?

My brother and nephews want to rent Waverunners is this possible at either spot?

My mother would probable like the casinos. Can she use them at either destination without a room?

I'd be curious to hear opinions to both of these destinations. My family is kind of leaving it to me to decide and I want to please as many of them as possible.

Thanks in Advance - Wendy

I can answer one question - there is no charge to use the casinos. We went into the casinos and walked around the shopping area in the hotel without anyone saying anything to us.

You will get 4 wristbands per room for the comfort suites, so just plan accordingly and book enough rooms. Your mom can use the casino here without paying anything~with the exception of her gambling money of course! She won't be able to join you down in the pool area at all without a wristband though.
If you take your chances you could always book day rooms at the Atlantis and that way you would 5 wristbands per room.

There is no comparison- Atlantis has a MUCH nicer beach on Paradise Island than does Cable Beach in Nassau. It is a bit noisy if that doesn't bother you, but if it does then walk along the beach toward the north side of the island and you can find some peace and quiet. You can rent equipment from both locations. The casino at Atlantis is much more bustling than the one I saw at Cable Beach (Wyndham).

With all due respect, I have the opposite opinion. If you feel like like dropping a couple hundred bucks at Atlantis, you'll have a good time, OR you could drop nothing and still have a good time. The casino at the Wyndham is much nicer than the casino at Atlantis. The beach is bigger at Atlantis but it is also MUCH MUCH MUCH more crowded. Atlantis has a facier pool and a few more bells and whistles, but is it worth a couple hundred dollars? I don't think so. You have to pay for motorized water sports at both locations. They pull up randomly at Cable Beach with banana boats, tour boats, jetskis, etc. They aren't sitting there at all times. I'm not sure about Atlantis. The pool at the Wyndam is very nice with a good water slide and a swim up bar. It's a great way to spend the day.

kaykels,
I know its been discussed before but could you fill me in again which bus, where and where to ask the driver to get off.
Thanks :cool1:

Sorry, you'll probably have to do a search for that. I never took the bus. I always take the cab. There are cab drivers everwhere when you get off of the ship. I think the cost is the same to Atlantis or Cable Beach ($5.00 pp) but the bus is cheaper. I'm just not familiar with that.

Just read a post-#10 bus down bay st get off at wyndham and walk through their lobby to the beach - cost was $1

If you end up on Cable Beach my vote is to go to the Wyndham for the casino and pool but go to the hotel next door (facing the ocean, walk left) for the beach. The Wyndham doesn't have much sandy beach and it's a quick walk next door (where I liked the pools better, with lots of water falls but no slide-you can decide for yourself when you get there).
Another option is to go to Paradise Island and not pay the Atlantis fee. You can use their casino without an initial fee. There is a hotel right next to Atlantis (a Sheraton I think), the beach there is lovely with no noisy music like Atlantis and not crowded in comparison to Atlantis but far better quality beach than you can find on Cable Beach near the Wyndham. You'll have fun whatever!

You have to watch though because the hotel next door to the Wyndham to the left facing the ocean is the Raddison and it is a private beach. However, with that said, they don't use wristbands. wink wink.
I think the Raddison has nicer pools (than the Wyndham). There are multiple pools.
I didn't know about the hotel next to Atlantis. Is that a public beach or do you need wrist bands?

I think when you pay the fee for the day rooms at Atlantis...your getting alot for your money. Not just a few more bells and whistles..you get a lot...Water park with tons of slides...more pools than you could use...lagoons, the aquarium (aka the dig)...the private beach, paddle boats, bumber boats, other water toys....speed slides, the shark tube slide....the list goes on...I haven't been to the whyndham...so I can't compaire...but I just wanted to say that for the money...you do get alot. We had a blast. Depending on the ages in your group may depend on just how much fun you have....Either way..young and old theres plenty to do....

The casino at atlantis has no fee...just your money you decide to gamble with.

As for the wristband...when we went and got a day room at atlantis...we could only get FOUR wristbands...and about a month ago...and another family that just got back also stated their group of 5 was not able to get 5 wristbands...but just 4. I have never heard of them doing 5...so you may want to call the hotel yourself before you even go..or now while your trying to make plans and ask...Just how many wristbands do you get for a day room.

Oh...there are waverunners out in the ocean...near the beach at atlantis...at and additional fee...as it's an independant company (at least the one we talked with).

we were there last week and booked the room at comfort suites to have access to atlantis...in my opinion, it is not worth the money...very very crowded....almost impossible to even get a chair..we never did get one..i wish we would have just stayed on the boat...we didn't let it ruin our day but it was not what i thought it would be...very long lines to do the slides..

it must depend on what time of year you go....when we were there in Sept. There were hardly lines...maybe two people in front of you (except for the shark tank slide...we did have to wait in a line for about 10...for that one.) But other than that..maybe two people...and there were Chairs/loungers EVERYWHERE. We walked right up to a set right by the steps to the pool that we were using. So I just wanted to add that there are not lines and crouds all of the time.

Does anybody know if you're allowed to use the facilities at the Sheraton along with their beach or is it private?

Do they have day passes?

Thanks
