Hi

We are planning our first trip to Disney for (hopefully) this November. I would like to know if there is a better "loop" to stay on for cabins. Also any info about the transportation would be welcome! We are also considering Port Orleans Riverside....so if anyone has an info on that hotel I'd appreciate any that anyone has!

Thanks
Sheryl H

Hi. We stayed in Loop 2500 and it was really good. It was next door to the pool and laundry and across the street from the bus stop. The loop is pretty small too so anywhere is a short walk to the end of the loop.

Check out the Camping at Disney World section of the DIS to get a lot of info about the Fort in general, and the cabins specifically. They are very friendly and VERY knowledgeable there! And quite avid fans of the Fort, too! :thumbsup2

We stayed in the 2500 loop too and loved it! It is close to the small pool, laundry and bus stop. We are going in December and requested the same cabin because it was soooo perfect for us. Have a great time on your trip!!!

I've stayed in 2400 and 2200 and liked them both. My only request has always been "close transportation" and there is a bus stop at the entrance to both of those loops. One thing to consider - in November it will be cool enough to walk around the Fort, and the 2100 and 2200 loops are the closest cabin loops to the main Meadow pool complex. I walked back from the Meadow pool to the 2400 loop and it took about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. You could knock that nearly in half for 2100 and it's about midway between if you're in 2200.

I am one of those people who doesn't really complain about the transportation. I've never rented a golf cart, because my trips are usually solo trips and I can't justify the cost just for me. I've found the internal buses just fine for getting to the marina area and the Meadow pool area. I always drive to WDW, so I have a car, and it's great to have an assigned parking space right next to your cabin. I find I drive to the parks more because I don't have to circle the parking lot at the end of the day looking for a space. The only park I don't drive to is MK. You do have to allow a little more time if you are taking the buses because of the internal/external system. But I can tell you, I've stayed at POR near the last bus stop, and many times the buses would go by and not even stop because they were already full. So we would have to wait for two, and sometimes even three buses during the morning hours, to get to a park. I have never had that kind of problem at FW.
