Hi out there....we booked our 7-day Eastern Caribbean w/ a stop at Tortola for August 15th, 2009. Have a Cat 8 and then a Cat 11. The Cat 11 has an obstructed view (it is an outside cabin). We going to put our 2 older kids in there. The trip reports for both of these cabins indicate that there is no steamer trunks in either cabin.....but the reports are old. Has anyone stayed in either one of these cabins as of late???? Plus does the outside Cat 11 cabin with the obstructed view have a split bath, or no -- I know the inside ones usually do not? I'm thinking of changing cabins if this is not a great location. It's a surprise for my DD 13th b-day so I don't want to have too many inconveniences. We had two Cat 8 connecting cabins on the Wonder (7006 & 7004) and they were fine, but this is a little different. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

While 6004 is an outside cat 11 cabin, It is NOT one of the obstructed view rooms... in fact it has no view/window at all.

Check out the reviews for 6002, 6004, 6502, 6504
They are all outside cat. 11 cabins located forward on deck 6

The reviews do seem to indicate that all these cabins feel a bit smaller than a typical cat. 11 cabin and as such I would guess that none of them have the steamer trunk.

Cat 11 cabins all have the single bathroom area.

I think you have been mis-informed. When viewing the Deck plan for Deck 6 it appears that you may have two adjacent but not connecting cabins if you have one Cat 8 and one Cat 11. And they do not appear to have the steamer trunks - and #6004 does appear to be a bit smaller as there is something that looks like a pillar on the outside wall that cuts into the rooms. The way to know if they have the steamer trunks is when you view the Deck plan if the walls in the cabin are straight then there's no trunk. If there's a little niche in one wall then that's where the trunk sits.

The "inside" cabins with the obstructed views are actually Cat. 10's (deluxe inside with the split bath) and they are forward on Deck 5, not Deck 6. They are usually referred to as the "secret porthole" or "SPH" rooms. The cabin numbers are: 5020, 5022 and 5024 on the Port side and 5520, 5522 and 5524 on the Starboard side. 5020 and 5520 do not have the trunks either BUT have the least obstruction while the others are connecting cabins.

Tip - adjoining and adjacent are two different things. You currently have adjacent. If you want them to connect you need to specify adjoining!!:goodvibes Check out the staterooms link above and you can view your deck plan!

Actually, I'm an idiot - I have cabins 6506 and 6504 - which is on the opposite side of the ship but in the same location. I believe when I booked on this trip on the Wonder I asked what the little one thingy was in front of the outside Cat 11 and the person at the desk said it had an obstructed view, not that it did not have a porthole. I love the steamer trunk but my kids could live without it and I don't mind that they are adjacent rooms. I guess my question would be has anyone stayed in these two cabins? Sorry for the misstatement.....I have three cruises booked for the future and I'm getting confused.
