We will be taking the Wonder 4 day cruise in November, can anyone tell me about Cabin size. There will be 4 of us, we are on deck 7, category 5 room...which is 268 square feet. Can someone compare this to room size at disney resorts? Will four adults be uncomfortable?

This is a first cruise for all four of us...any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

It is going to be crowded in my opinion but at least you will have a verandah and that should help. Plus there are many activities on the ship so you should be out of the room most of the day and evening.

For a few example of room sizes at some Disney resorts so you can compare -

Port Orleans French Quarter & Coronado Springs - 314 sq feet
Wilderness Lodge - 340 sq feet
Polynesian - 409 sq feet

I couldn't find a measurement for the All Stars but I think they would be the most comparable.

Good Luck :) I just hope you all like each other REALLY well ;)

Thanks, if it is close to the All Stars, I think we will be ok.

The actual room size is the same in the category 10 up to 5. The addition of the verandah will give you more room to spread out though.

We had 3 adults in a Cat11 and we are cruising in October with 2 adults and two teens in a Cat 10.
It was fine for us because we were never really in the room! We even staggered the times we were getting ready (one person would go back and start getting ready for dinner and about 20 min later another would go). You just make arrangments and enjoy yourselves! For us to go as often as we want, we get smaller cabins! I would rather cruise jammed in a cat 11 than not cruise at all! :) JMHO

Just be glad you picked Disney, as opposed to all other mainstream cruise lines whose typical cabin size (until you get up to suites) is closer to 180 sq. ft.

Also, I should point out that, as my3kids implied, your cabin (interior) size is actually 214 sq. ft. The add'l 54 sq. ft. is the verandah. So, unless one of you is sleeping out there ;) , it'll be tight. :(

The usual setup for 4 is a queen size bed, a fold out sofa and a dropdown bunk (either from ceiling or fold down from wall). If one of 4 is an infant, Disney can provide a port-a-crib. However, the maximum cabin capacity will remain 4.

All cabins on a cruise ship are much smaller than comparable land-based rooms. That's partly why there are so many activities constantly going on until bed time (and usually going well past it). They are meant to keep you from being couped up in your cabin watching TV... :) :) :)

I would say that the All Star is a pretty good comparison as far as length goes, but the cabin is narrower.

We were 4 people in a category 5 and we had no problem. The verandah will help when you are all in the room, as 1 or 2 will want to sit on the verandah instead of in the room. When you are sleeping, then it doesn't matter as there are 4 beds. A spot for everyone.

We have taken 4 Disney cruises with 4 adults(DH, DW, 2DDs age 26 and 21) in cat 5/6 rooms and have had no problems. Rooms have always seemed larger than I expected before first cruise. DDs have no problem with the beds (converted sofa and pull down bunk). It really helps if you unpack everything and put it away immediately. Plenty of storage for the normal family. If you have lots of suitcases, try to get some that will fit inside of each other when empty. You should be able to get those in the closet out of the way.
The split bathroom really helps also. We give our DD's one and we take the other.
If anyone needs privacy to change, etc, the curtain between the bed and sofa area can be pulled, which is very convienent.
All in all, even though the cabins are small compared to most hotel rooms, the space is very useful and well designed. All you really loose is the extra walkspace you would have in a hotel between the end of the bed and the wall. With the veranda, all 4 of us like to spend lots of time in the room resting and we don't end up killing each other. To me the rooms are one of the high points on Disney.

Thanks again for all the great responses...I guess we will be ok. We are 4 adults, but we won't be spending much time in the room....unless my parents want to take an afternoon snooze, we will be out and about enjoying what is offered.

Thanks again!
