Cabin Numbering?

have reservations for 2 cabins in Jan / Feb 2011, and would like to ask for specific cabins on the "outside" of 2600 loop on the right side of Moccasin Trail

I can't find a key to how cabins are "numbered" (i.e. 26xx in the 2600 loop). do numbers go clockwise or counter clockwise around the loop; odd / even on the outside / inside of the loop?
can anyone 'esplain me? - thanks

Check out the Site Maps in Google Earth sticky at the top of the forum. Shan-man and crew have taken an immense amount of time to map out all the sites in Google Earth. It will take a few minutes to download the files; but, one you have done that part, you will always have it... and he's even included a step by step tutorial.

Unfortunately, Shan-man's map does not currently include cabin numbers.

Just campsite numbers.

The 2600 loop follows the same numbering system found on all of the other loops, the cabins are numbered in sequence, not with odds or evens on a particular side of the loop.

On this loop, Cabin 2600 is the first cabin on the loop, and is on the outside. The numbers then go around the loop clockwise. Cabin 2601 is on the inside. For the first part of the loop, up to Cabin 2625, the even numbers are outside of the loop, and the odds are on the inside. But when you reach cabin 2625, it is on the outside, and cabin 2626 is on the inside. Then cabin 2627 and 2628 are on the outside, and 2630 is on the inside. From here up to 2636, the inside cabins are even numbers, but then 2638 is on the outside, and 2639 is on the inside. I think you get the picture- it is hard to follow the pattern.

So, if you want an outside cabin on the 2600 loop- ask for that rather than a cabin number.

If you want to know the numbers of the outside cabins on a particular part of the loop (i.e. the first part or the last part, or the middle), let me know, and I'll give them to you.

THANKS, TCD:

Like you said, I can see them on Shan's google map but no numbers.

I guess I could figure out the specific numbers (your description is pretty complete) but if you could help me get them I'd appreciate it! I had trouble with word problems in school.:headache:

I'm looking at the cabins on the extreme South side of the loop, 4 or five cabins in after entering the loop, bearing right, going counter-clockwise:

Put another way, these are cabins right between Peacock Pass and Moccasin Trail (the loop pavement).

If you wandered through the woods south and a little west you'd walk right into the "Cabin" pool on the other side of Peacock.(which is what we wanna do except for the woods  part probably). Maybe numbers for the 4th through 7th cabins in from the entrance to the loop?

We are there at low season so I figure it can't hurt to be specific...

Thanks in advance - hope this isn't too much.

OK, let's see if I can help you out.

If you turned right when you entered the 2600 loop and went around the loop counter clockwise, the third cabin on your right would be 2665. The cabins next to it would be 2663, 2662, 2660, 2658 and 2656.

I think those are the cabins you would be looking for.

Traffic on the loops is one-way, so you would actually have to drive all the way around the loop clockwise to get to these.

Have fun.

Thanks for the help!

We were in this location on our last trip and no way I could find the cabin numbers - receipts for ears and junk food popcorn:: and even a wadded up fastpass, but no room numbers!

DGDs loved being so close to the pool.
