Cabin loop?

I have yet to request a cabin loop and we are only 11 days away. Is it too late? What should I request? We are not renting a golf cart, but we will have a car. Thoughts??

Generally if you're going to put in a request, "best camping board practices" is to fax it to the Fort about 4-5 days prior to your arrival.

But unless you want/need something specific in the location of your cabin (i.e., near the bus stop, closer to the Outpost, etc.) there's not necessarily any need to make a specific request. For starters they're just that - only a request. What you request is not guaranteed. Plus it's not like there are really great loops and really awful ones. They're all pretty darned good. :)

You should check out the map of the Fort and see where your priorities are. Close to the pool? Closer to the center of the resort? You can call the reservations number and have your loop request added to your reservation, then as PP said, fax your request directly to the Fort as well.

In general, it really doesn't matter. The cabins are all the same. Have fun!

Good luck. I requested a certain loop last year & did'nt get it. I will try again this year & maybe I'll get lucky.

I was just going to ask the same question.

We are checking into the fort on September 30th and was curious what loop we should request.

We would like to be near the marina and, close to a bus stop if possible, as we have two young kids with us and are not renting a golf cart

Any suggestions?

Also, does anyone have the fort fax number handy?

Thanks in advance :wizard:

First question - what class of campsite did you book? Probably the most important factor in requesting a particular loop is that what you want actually exists. ;)

For example, if you booked a full-hookup site - there aren't any full hookup loops close to the marina.

ETA... Oh and if you're in a cabin, I'm afraid none of those (that you can request) are particularly close to the marina either. Fort map HERE. Cabin loops are 2100-2800

Sorry about that.

I am in a cabin.

Thanks for the map.

will take a look :goodvibes

Yikes, they are far from the marina.

So am guessing you would take an internal bus then? Like to settlement depot? Is that what you do to get to marina from a cabin?

Sorry if these questions sound dumb

I stayed at a campsite 2 years ago there, but we had golf cart, so never worried about location before.

Thanks

Yes. Internal buses will take you to the Settlement/Marina or Outpost. Outpost is where you catch buses to the all parks except MK + DTD.

Not at all! :goodvibes

The buses will get you where you need to go - no worries.

Have a great trip!

When I stay in the cabins, my only request is "close transportation". Every time, I've been at the front of a loop near a bus stop. In the large scheme of things, being close to the bus stop is all that really matters - especially late at night when you're tired!

Don't worry about not having a golf cart. I've stayed at the Fort many times and never rented one (kind of expensive for solo trips). The buses will get you where you need to go. Even without a bus, if you're going during cool weather, it can be pleasant to walk. I've walked from the 2200 and 2400 loop to the Meadow pool, and it took about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. If you're in the 2800 loop, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the Outpost for all the external buses.

Really, since you have a car, the only place I'd really recommend using Disney transportation is to MK, and the buses/boats take care of that quite well.
