I could not find an answer for this using the site search engine. My family will be driving so we will only want to use the boats as transportation. Looking at the map I was unable to tell the cabin and campsite locations apart. I am hoping to be as close as possible to the boats. I would love to know where to request if anyone has any advice. Thanks!

Unfortunately I think you'll find that all of the cabin loops are clustered around the entrance to The Fort, which is the furthest point away from the marina/boats. The buses within The Fort are quite timely though, so hopping a bus to the marina shouldn't pose much of an additional challenge.

There's a sticky at the top of the camping board that has a Google Map rendering of The Fort plus all of the cabin loops. It's worth a peek if you want to see where cabin loops are in relation to the rest of The Fort.

Have a good time!

Yep, Toga was right.

Cabins are in loops 2100-2800.

You mentioned in the "Free Dining" thread about all those folks in the cabin with only one bath. What others have done in that situation is to request a cabin in the 2100 loop close to the main road. That is the closest that some in your party could be to one of the camper Compfort Stations in loop 1100 which also backs up onto the same main road.

It's always the guys who have to do the walkin' though. What's up with that? :confused3

Thanks for the info. Bama Ed we live close to you in Trussville, Alabama. We are so excited about our trip and trying to get as much info as possible.

Yer Welcome!

I'm in Hoover.

If you ever want to send me a Private Message I'll be happy to answer you privately. I think you need 10 posts or something minimally like that to be able to send a PM.

I used to do the cabin thing but since I bought a pop-up nearly 8 years ago that is the way I have done the Fort but some things don't change. We've got a lot of sharp cabin campers on this board but if I can help I'd be happy too.

So Welcome again :welcome:

Bama ED

PS - that holds true for anyone else lurking out there too. :cool1:
