Cabin Door Decorations

What is the best way to print them out? Do you use card stock, then laminate, and ad magnet strips to the back? What seems to work best for you veteran cruisers?
I print on photo paper (that way they start out already shiny), then cut out the picture, place on adhesive magnetic paper and cut out again.

I find the magnets stick better if the whole surface area is a magnet and not just magnet buttons/strips in the corners or randomly on the back.

I made mine by printing on regular paper on color printer, cut them out and then laminated them and cut them out again. I hot glued magnetic strips to the back. I will try to post picture later.

Most of these magnets were from previous cruises. I purchased some new magnetic paper from Office depot and we would come back to find they had fallen off.

I usually keeps ours pretty simple! I change the Mickey ears over the room number every other day or so. This happened to be Pirate Night!

Did you guys make your own hanging message holders? I have almost zero sewing skills, but would love to make one if there is a simple design for a basic crafter.

That's not "going crazy" - this is

I did make mine, and while I am a seamstress, this one was SUPER EASY. I did it on the fly. I used a ribbon, as you can see, for it to hang, which worked fine. I'm sure the dowel rod version works better, but I thought for packing the ribbon would be easier. I looked up dimensions for the Fish Extender and went from there. The whole thing took me about 20 minutes to sew. Then I bought iron-on letters for the pockets. Simple!

I got mine off EBay.

Can someone share the outer diameter of the room number circle on the door? If (or is it "when":-) we cruise on Disney again, I'd like to make a hat-and-ears magnet to go around the top part of the circle.

Our first cruise we used magnetic tape. Stuck it to the print and magnetic on the other side.

We l so took a small printer with us and put new pics up of things that were going on that day and evening.

I usually change the door number character each day depending on what the theme of the day or port is. Just noticed the ears are missing from the Sorcerer Hat...funny, didn't even notice that onboard. Hope they didn't walk.

I'll tell you something else that's cute. I took our Sorcerer's Hat door ears and tweaked them. I brushed a little glue on the stars and moon and sprinkled them with glow-in-the-dark glitter. It was so cute. :woohoo:

Thanks for all the ideas! I want to do some of these for our grandkids. I'll probably be back with lots of questions.

Last summer I used magnetic paper that I bought through Amazon and it seemed to work fine, although it was practically the whole page so it was a large magnet. We received some really cute magnets in the FE and some stuck really well and some did not-- the smaller ones seemed to be the ones that were falling off the most.

I use the large A4 Magnetic paper but from a cheaper supplier than Amazon works fine yes large but do stick.
