We are staying in the cabins at the fort. My husband is a bit of a camping enthusist. The cabin will be a bit cramped with 4 adults and 2 kids. He is wondering if we an pitch the tent and sleep in the tent, possibly with one of the kids.

Sorry, WDW policy, no tents on the cabin sites.

Denise is right.

The best you can do if he wants to tent is to request a cabin in the 2100 loop and a tent site in the 2000 loop. Those are the closest cabin-tent loops together. But there would be the cost of both the tent site and the cabin.

The cabins are good sized. You should be fine with 4 adults and two kids in the cabin. (You can use the nearest Comfort Station if you're concerned about having only one bathroom). Enjoy your stay.

My opinion - the camping loop closest to cabin loop 2100 is loop 1100. We had a friend camp in that loop last year while we were in the cabin loop. It's really close. If you can get them to arrange it, some of the cabins back right up to camping sites.

You might also consider just renting an RV from someone (FW, TT, etc) and I think there are some camping sites big enough for an RV and a tent. Plus, you would have a comfort station which would help with all the adults having to share a bathroom.

Having said all that, the cabins are wonderful and you'll love them! You can totally have 2 adults on each full bed and put the kiddos on the bunks. When the murphy bed is down, it takes up the whole living room so keep that in mind when you decide who sleeps in there.

mgsmom, was your friend in a tent? The 1100 loop is a premium loop which means all concrete and no coquina/sand pad. The reason I mentioned the 2000 loop is because it has the coquina for tents. If the OP's DH doesn't mind using a cot to get off the ground or something like that then 1100 could be an option too. :3dglasses

Oh, good point - my friend was in a TT - and I'm pretty sure I remember walking past some tents - but I've slept since then so you never know! :rotfl: I'm sure they were on cots or airmattresses - at least I HOPE they were!

Someday I'll get to camp there and I'll know the differences in all the loops. I saw the 2000 on the map, but I was thinking it was another cabin loop for some reason.
