cabin 7001, dreams unlimited

HI-
has anyone stayed in room 7001 or close to it ?
i took the advice of posters here and send a request through dreams unlimited, travel....came back with a quote for cat 10, cabin 7001 dec 2- dec 5th 3 night cruise, around $1, 400 for my party...myself, DH, and 2 dd's ages 13 & 5.

is that room good? is that a decent price?

we are first time cruisers so i know nothing....except i want to make good deals ( but dont we all??)

I won't comment on the price, because your price will vary substantially based on when you book. I will say that dreams usually quotes you the same price as you would get direct from DCL, and you can often get a rebate from Dreams. DCL usually isn't discounted very often. Off the top of my head, that price sounds about right. You didn't say if it included insurance or not, which can make a difference.

But your room location is great! We stayed in 7005 our first cruise, and I really loved it. You will be all the way forward on the 7th deck on the port side of the ship. You're under the bridge, and at the end of a dead end hallway. You're only traffic will come from officers accessing the bridge via the doorway outside of yours. You are an easy two flights down from the adult pool, and 3 flights up from the theater. It's a very convenient location.

We were in 7003 a few weeks ago and loved the location. Very quiet at the end of the hallway, but still convenient to the forward elevators and stairs. On the same deck as the very nice open deck 7 aft. I would definitely book this location again.

We were on the Wonder in early March and stayed on 8502 - one deck up and on the starboard side, but otherwise very similar location. The location was great - at the end of the hall and very quite, and only a few steps from the forward elevators. Also had a nice view from the verandah - could see forward with a little lean over the railing. I think 7001 would be the very last room before the brige - our room was the next to last.
