So far I haven't been able to find any information about the cost or time/length of the cabana massage on castaway cay. Anyone know this information?

Also, if anyone has experienced this massage could you please fill me in on the details. I regularly get massages at home and I like to know what kind of massage I am in for before I show up. This is a bit embarassing...but how naked to you have to get for the massage? :earboy2:

Thank you!

Currently you can have either the Well Being massage or the Spa Taster massage while on Castaway Cay. Both massages last for 50 minutes and cost $139. A couple's massage on Castaway Cay costs $278. (The prices to have these massages on the ship are a bit less $$).

When my husband and I had a couples' massage while on the Magic we both undressed down to our underwear. The spa technicians are very discreet and keep you well covered. I've read on this message board that some people get completely undressed while others wear a bra and underwear, or bathing suit. It's completely up to what you will be comfortable with. Enjoy! :)

P.S. Here are the descriptions of the two massages, copied directly from Disney Cruise Line's web site:

Wellbeing Massage
The full body massage is an all over body massage from the ankles up to the neck. The Elemis Aromatherapy oils will be applied during your treatment to ensure you emerge both revived and relaxed.
Duration: 50 minutes

Spa Taster
The spa taster is a wonderful way to experience a combination of treatments designed to alleviate areas of stress. This massage begins at your ankles, working slowly up the back of the body, concentrating on the neck and scalp - the two key areas of stress. Your therapist will then turn you over to cleanse, tone, and exfoliate the face applying a soothing aromatherapy mask. Completing the treatment with a relaxing massage to the scalp, you will leave feeling relaxed and re-vived.
Duration: 50 minutes

I had a cabana massage on CC in Apr 03. My masseuse was a young woman from the Philippines who had just begun employment with DCL. Because I was interested, she told me what it was like to work on the Magic. We also discovered we were both Christians. It was a very special conversation.
The massage was wonderful. I still remember hearing the sound of the waves as she worked on me. (The window boards are propped open, but otherwise you're totally enclosed in the cabana.)
Afterward, I bought some body oil from her that stays with my masseuse at home. Every time I go there (which is not enough!) I am reminded of the cabana...
Since I have had many massages, I have lost most of my inhibitions about "disrobing" even though I am overweight. I urge you to try it. It is a very relaxing experience that you'll treasure afterwards.

My husband and I had our first ever massages (Cabana or otherwise) on our first Disney cruise in 2001. It is one of the things I most look forward to when we return this summer. We wore bathing suits (my husband left his on and I rolled mine down to the waist (I am a Pooh sized gal!). THe massage is in a hut at the edge of the adult only beach at Castaway Cay. There are 2 side by side massage tables in the hut and the windows are closed for privacy until you are under the sheet and ready (The massuers(sp) leave and return for you to disrobe. They open a large window near your head and you can feel the warm ocean breeze and hear the waves. It's gorgeous! If I remember correctly, there is a ceiling fan gently moving air but I am nor positive about this. They did write a list of recommended products but there was no pressure to buy.

We were on the 3 day Wonder and this was a perfect way to end our vacation. I've had several massages since then and the Disney ones were just as good.

Hope this helps. :wave2:

The last Disney Cruise I was on was Sept 2003. I did a Massage at the spa on the ship and a Cabana massage at Castaway Cay. I enjoyed the one I had on the ship much better, but I think it really comes down to the massage therapist you get. The MT on the ship gave a much better massage than the young lady I got at the Cabana massage. The atmosphere of the cabana massage is wonderful, and if I ever did it again, I would make a request for a massage therapist that better fit my needs. I like a deeper/harder massage and felt like missed out.
