Do they have a fair sized selection? Not just pastries, cereal and such?

They usually have a pretty full menu. No steak or omelette but they have eggs, bacon, sausage, hash, breads, etc.

Interesting. Thanks for this thread. DH and I loved Royal Palace but we found the menu from Royal Palace really blehhhh on the last day. We liked our Cabanas breakfast and did not know it was open on debarkation day. Now, we'll know what to do!

We did not know this as well and are interested in doing this instead of the MDR so that we can try to get off the ship earlier (we have late dining)
What are the hours for Cabanas breakfast on disembarkation day, and do they have prepackaged cereal, breakfast meat (bacon, sausage) and fresh fruit? (DS has a dairy allergy and we have felt a bit confined to the MDRs but if these few things are available, he can eat just fine on this day)

Not sure of the exact hours but they were open early enough that instead of going to the first breakfast seating you could go to Cabanas. They did have the pre-packaged cereals, bacon and fruits. We really liked going there instead of the MDR. We just made sure to say goodbye to our servers the night before and told them we would not see them the next morning for breakfast. It was a great alternative for breakfast!

I am so glad to hear this! We have been skipping breakfast on the ship on the last morning because the MDR disembarkation breakfast (in our experience) was so bad.

We did the MDR breakfast on our first cruise.........bleh :confused3

Ever since then, we do breakfast in Cabanas.......yum :thumbsup2

Cabanas does not have both sides open on the last morning. There may be a few things missing, but I didn't notice. Cabanas is our favorite for b'fast every day.

They didn't have any Mickey waffles but I didn't notice anything else missing.

They often do have available Mickey Waffles at the debarkation breakfast - you just have to ask and they will pull from behind the counter (the same as any morning they are not part of the menu and they have pancakes or french toast out instead).

Good to know. I was super bummed last time.

I know this is an old post, but does anyone know the Cabana's breakfast hours on debarkation day? We usually have late dining, so our MDR breakfast is 8 am, and we didn't know we have an option of just going up to Cabanas. I don't like the last breakfast in the MDR that much... feel rushed and like they are watching us to make sure we eat and get out, lol.
Next cruise we will go up to Cabanas, just wondering what hours it's open as we wouldn't go there any earlier than 8.

Last fall, Cabanas was open from 630 to 8:30 AM. You will get some departure information in your cabin the night before that will list the hours.

Oh I'm happy to hear this! Our breakfast on the last morning of our first cruise was in the MDR and it was awful. Doing Cabana's from now on!

I'm just the opposite: outlast Cabanas breakfast (on the Dream) was a zoo! I'll give up better food to have a better experience.

We did the MDR for the first time this last cruise and thought it was a much better experience than Cabanas. Got to sit and see our servers again and walk off the boat with no line. I find the food all the same, Cabanas is nothing to write home about and after a few days of it, I am looking for a change.

For me it's less about the food they will have at Cabanas and more about the fact I can go there anytime between 6:30-8:30. I always find it stressful that we have to be at the debarkation breakfast on time... We woke up a bit late last time and got there at 8:10 and you could tell that the servers were not impressed and we were so rushed. It was our fault we were late, sure. But if we go to Cabanas at least we can go there at 7:30 or 8:10 whatever. As long as it's before 8:30 I guess. At least Cabanas is an option. We did not know that before.

It's my understanding that they serve in Cabanas only until 8:00 (as in they have to food out to serve), but you can stay there until 8:30.
