Does anyone have any idea of current prices for Cabana's at either of the water parks for summer? We plan on visiting both Water Parks, one on 30 June and and one on 3 July. There are 5 of us and we want somewhere with plenty of shade, maybe where we can take a little nap in the afternoon. Not fussed which park. We are aware of the differences between the Polar Patios and the Beachcomber Shacks. But I'd love to hear some opinions. We would only be renting in one of the parks though. We may consider umbrella's in the other.

We opted to rent one at Typhoon Lagoon and not BB. The main reason was I felt the shacks provided MUCH better shade/rain protection than the larger umbrellas of the polar patios. I'd go with regular chairs/umbrella at BB and spend extra on Shack at TL. When we did it, it was like $340 I believe.

Isn't TH less shady overall? I'd rent there.

Oops, no, i meant Isn't Blizzard Beach less shady?!

I know you're asking about the cost of the cabanas, but as water park lovers I'd just throw it out there that the cabanas are a huge waste of money, IMO...especially if they really are nearly $350. Both parks have more than ample spaces with shade, for free, and you can nap there if you want. You'll have no problem finding spots for your family of 5 (we're a family of 5 too), even in mid-summer. Save your money.

We love the cabanas at TL. We visited BB for the first time in October. We didn’t get a cabana because it was just 3 of us (usually we are 6). I walked around and looked at all the cabana options at BB, and I thought they were really disappointing and much less “worth it” than those at TL. Yes there are plenty of shady spots for free at either park. For us, the value of the cabana at TL is the secure space, locker/safe, unlimited towels, shade and rain protection, nice chairs and tables, server, and designated place for my parents to chill if they need a break. Also you all get a refillable mug if that matters to you. And you don’t have to get there at park opening to get shade if you rent the cabana. If you do rent, look for some maps here and elsewhere to see if there is a particular area you’d like to request. Our requests have always been met.

I can see the OP wanting a specific place to settle in and use as home base, and how to spend their money being their choice.

Sure it is. OP asked for advice about the cabanas. Seeing how I am very familiar with the water parks, I figured I'd give input. It's OK if my input is that they're a waste of money. I didn't say OP wasn't allowed to spend money however he/she chooses. Sorry if my opinion isn't yours.

I would definitely argue that the cabana is 100% WORTH it at Typhoon Lagoon. We rented one this past year during the same week. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. We wanted somewhere we knew was our base and a place that was protected from sun, rain, or the scramble of having to find such a spot.

You are assigned a person who checks with you all day long. You can order food with them and have it delivered (if you want). Everyone received a refillable mug and there is plenty of water available in bottles at your location.

Again, we found that for our group it made the day much less stressful. Compared to the prices you spend on many things at Disney, this was a good deal....
