just curious, has anyone ever been able to book a cabana on serenity bay and then swap it with for a family one with someone else on your cruise? What is the process if that happens? Thanks in advance!!!

If you can find someone to do that swap, it would be handled at Port Adventures desk onboard the ship.

If you're a member of a cruise group I'd definitely be looking into it, or if you're open to the idea see if another family would be willing to split their family beach cabana with you.

Have you checked on your Cruise Meet thread (if your cruise has one)?

Definitely planning to ask around our group and see. Just wasn't sure if there was a strict policy or rules about it, wanted to check before I put it out there. And wanted to see if anyone had experience with doing it! Thanks :)

Didn't want to do the wrong thing and risk losing it cause we definitely want it lol. Feeling so lucky to even have gotten it cause we have a few family members traveling with us who dont love the sun! And wanted to see if anyone had experience with doing it!

Yea doesn't work in your situation then for sure. If you don't have any luck switching before cruise, definitely let Port Adventures know you'd prefer a Family Beach cabana in case anyone cancels once onboard.

And have a back-up plan for what you're going to do if one doesn't - because the under 18s will NOT be allowed at Serenity Bay, even in the cabanas.

That's not even a thought! I would never attempt that, nor would i do that to others in the area. I'm more of a rule follower here lol which is why I was even asking if switching with someone was even allowed cause I do not want to lose it! My in laws don't do well with heat or long travels on sand and I need to know that they will be comfortable for me to remotely enjoy myself. The rest of us will definitely take shifts if the switch doesn't happen!

Please find someone before your cruise to switch with. There are only 4 cabanas on SB and if you have small ones you cannot use it. Release it as soon as you can so if anyone is on a wait list for SB they can get one.

The OP has stated that if they cannot get one on the family beach, the adults would take turns using it.

Don't feel as if you're doing anything wrong, your previous comment stated that the adults would just take turns and that you know the kids cannot be there. Keep checking especially closer to your trip to see if one pops up as it's possible people could cancel. I hope it works out for you so that you can all be together that day.

Believe me, If we decide not to use this cabana I plan to do exactly that. But as I said above I was looking for advice on if people have ever had any luck switching for a family one and what the process was. I had NEVER intended to bring children there and also said above twice that we would take turns in there while watching them. We are a family of 10, 7 adults, 3 kids so rest assured the cabana would not go to waste. Given the choice I would obviously prefer a family one (hence why I'm questioning the swap in the first place) but we all know how these are not easy to come by and with my in laws whom I have certain concerns as far as only having the beach/sun/sand setting, the rest of us are willing to split the day up to make sure they are comfortable, again as I said above.

Thank you so much. I plan to do this for sure

Hopefully you can get someone to switch with you, otherwise, like you said, taking turns with the kids is a good option. I wouldn't give up the cabana if I had the good fortune of snagging one if I had a family as large as yours with adults that would make use of it. Chances are 1-2 adults would be with the kids in the water anyway, right? Unfortunately, it will just be that whoever comes to "relieve" you happens to be coming from a ways away and the kids don't get anytime in the cabana. Wishing you pixie dust that someone trades with you!pixiedust:
