We have rented cabanas at both parks on past trips, and have one rented at both parks again for this August

. We are cabana junkies

.
If you have to pick between the two, definitely go for the cabana at Aquatica..
- Its going to be much less expensive for an AQ cabana in the off-season (which is what September is) than at DC (where cabanas are the same price year round).
- There are more people at Aquatica than DC, so having a private space is harder to come by vs. the tons of loungers at Discovery Cove.
- There are less shady areas at Aquatica than DC.
- The fridge at Aquatica will be a lifesaver (you can always get a fresh cold drink from one of the snack stations or the restaurant at DC). Your fridge at AQ in the cabana will come stocked with 12 bottles of Dasani water.
- You won't have to pay for a locker at Aquatica, as there is one in each cabana.
- You wont have to bring towels to Aquatica with a cabana rental, as there is a supply included (8 towels, if I remember correctly). Towels at DC are plentiful and provided free.
That said....we love the cabanas at both parks
