Cabana Rental at Grand Floridian

I'd call as soon as you decide you want to do it. I waited until 60 days on this trip, because it's been so easy in the past, and wasn't able to get one at GF. We got two at CR, but GF was all booked.

I am looking at renting a Cabana at the Grand Floridian in August. I was trying to look up the information on the Disney site, and Stitch keeps eating the page. Does anyone know what the cost is? And what is included? We are going in August, is it worth it to rent one during this time of year and if so morning or afternoon? Are you limited to the number of people that can use it? Also where are they located?
I just rented a cabana at the Grand Floridian for a half day in August. It was 211.94 for 3 pm - 7:00 pm.

FYI, there is a new offering at the GF. They have a "premium seating" area set up inside the gates of the children's splash pad area (Mad Hatter area). We rented it last week for $150 and it was FANTASTIC. It was better than a cabana, since it wasn't closed in and we could spread out more and use the table/chairs that were next to us. It was also still very convenient if any of the kids wanted to go into the Beach pool. We had an attendant and received a cooler of drinks, snacks and towels. Here's some photos.

Do you have a photo of how close it is to the pool? We have no young kids for the splash pad so I'm just wondering if it is worth it for us.

I don't have a photo but it's literally just steps to the Beach Pool, restrooms and the pool bar. It was also nice and quiet, because even though it's a the kids' area, not a lot of people stay in there very long. We loved the location.

Hi @Regan117, guess you're back? :-) Yeah, I wish I had known about this back in April before I arrived. I was bummed when we got there and I saw this. I tried to get them to switch my normal cabana for this one, but they wouldn't do it even though it wasn't rented. Booo!

This looks like a great area! However, since my little ones are now 16 I don't think they would like being my the splash pool with tons of little ones.

You aren't actually near the little kids. We were a good distance from the structure and right near the gate where you go to the regular pool. We've rented cabanas many times and I liked this better. It was far less crowded than the regular pool area.

I did the cabana at Grand (granted this was probably 5 years ago) and it wasn't worth it at all to me, but worth is subjective.

Of course the concept of being in a shaded area where you can order pizza and drinks while your family swims is really nice but I didn't think it was worth the price (especially if your children aren't teens and have to be supervised anyway). Knowing the price has gone up (shocker) I definitely wouldn't do it again.

But at the time it seemed like a good idea. Today I'd rather spend the money on a nice dining experience or a really special souvenir or use it towards an extra resort night.

Like you said, worth it subjective. It isn't a trade-off for everyone. Some people can rent a cabana AND have a nice dining experience or add an extra resort night.

We think the cabanas are worthwhile and will continue to rent them each trip. The home base, shade, comfy chairs, service and snacks and drinks were well worth the cost for US.

I never said they couldn't? But thank you?

You're saying you'd rather put the money toward something else, but I'm pointing that it isn't either/or for everyone. We rent cabanas several days on our trips, and we also eat where we want and stay as long as we prefer.

Yes it has gotten pricey, but it is still very "worth" it to me. My August trip is a girls trip: me, 29 niece and my 16 year old girl twins. We will definitely enjoy the shade, fan, service and music. Renting a cabana isn't going to change where I eat. Well for lunch the day of the cabana rental I won't be getting an ADR at the GF Cafe, I'll be ordering my lunch poolside! :rolleyes1

@Regan117 How did you book it? I have been on the phone with various Disney Cast Members for an hour trying to book the premium seating and no one has heard of it and can't tell me how to book it. They keep referring me back to the Cabanas. They did confirm that premium seating is available but can't tell me who to book through.

ugh wish they offer this at the Poly - daughter will likely want to spend more time at the volcano pool than the quiet pool.

I actually did it right at the desk at the pool. We didn't even know it existed until I saw it. It wasn't rented so I just told them I wanted it.
