:confused3 I have a lot of questions about renting cabanas.....

First: Does RPH have Cabanas or is it just HRH?

What does it cost to rent one for a day?

How far in advance do you have to make reservations?

If you reserve a cabana for a day...from what time in the AM to what time in the PM do you have it?

Does this ever happen???: You rent a cabana, stay for awhile, go to the parks for awhile, come back and a family has taken over your cabana???

Thanks for all the info???!!!

I've never stayed there but have an upcoming trip to PBH in two months. I've already reserved my cabana. I believe all the hotels on-site have them. I called the hotel about a month ago and reserved it. I got the deluxe cabana and it will come to about $150 with gratuity and tax for the day. I believe there is a dicount if you have a club room though. I was told you have it for the day - the hours that the pool is open I believe. The number you call for RPR is 407-503-3235 to reserve a cabana. I'm sure they could answer all of your questions there.

You don't pay for it until your stay. You are allowed to cancel it up until 9pm the night before.

Ok...I must seem really clueless on this subject AND I AM!!!

Why would you want a cabana?
What are the benefits?????

AND

Can't another family just go ahead and use yours while you are at the parks or go back to your room for awhile???

:wave2: :dance3: THANKS!!!

Why would you want a cabana?

Since I haven't been there yet, I can't give you first-hand info on it, but I know why we wanted to rent a cabana. We plan on spending a whole day just at the pool, no parks that day. Sitting in the hot Florida sun for a day in August may get to be a bit too much. So the cabana will be perfect. You get shade, and I believe a ceiling fan, a fridge with complimentary soft drinks, fresh fruit, a TV - all the comforts of home right next to the pool. Its a little indulgence for us and one I'm thoroughly looking forward to!! :cool1:

We rented one at RPR last summer. The cost (I think) was $75 per day, but we paid $40 because we were staying club level. You make your reservation by calling the hotel and asking for the fitness center. They are the ones in charge of the cabannas. You should to it ASAP, because RPR only has 3.Yo #2 is right near the pool, so we chose that one since we wanted to be able to see our kids in the pool. The other two are tucked out of the way, but are right in fron on the hot tubs, so it feels a little more private, but not if someone is in the hot tub.

The cabanna has two lounge chairs, towels, a phone, a TV, a fridge, and I think (not sure ) a fan. The fridge is stocked with sodas and water. You need to stop by the fitness center on your way in to the cabanna each day to pick up your bowl of fruit. The beneft is a shady cooler place to sit by the pool. The cabana is yours from the time the pool opens until it closes for the day.

We never had a problem of another family using it while we were at the parks, but I have heard of people having to evict other fmailies.

They are not suppose to but do! I had rented the Stevie Wonder Cabana specifically for the Friday Night Dive in Movie and/or if DD did not want to stay in the parks since it was our first time at US.

Well I had told the employee at the Towel Hut that we were heading into the park first and we would be there later. I had also mentioned it to the Fitness Centre since I went down to cancel our next days booking. Both said no problem. Well I guess nobodytold anybody and when we finally went down, another family had set up camp! :furious: :furious: So be careful. Let the Lifeguard on duty know! He is apparently the one who looks after this.

Other than that, it was nice, since I got to watch the movie and DD watched her MTV!

We rent cabanas and love it! Its a great way to escape the sun have a nice meal poolside, see the dive in movie and just plain relax. We always leave periodically during the day. They had a RESERVED sign hanging from our lounge chairs and there is a sign on the table with your last name printed that says its yours for the day-evening. We have not had a problem with anyone taking it over when we left. We do always keep it lived in looking in case. The server assigned to your cabana will look out for you too.

Our fruit was delivered to us in the cabana and the drinks were in the fridge as well as water.

hello i have been trying for a few days to reserve one at the beach pool, the front desk keep transferring me to the beach pool bar and nobody picks up. The automated machine asks me to leave a name and number but nobody has called me back. Should i ask for the fitness center to reserve the cabana at the PBH ?

I had the same problem when I tried to reserve one. Call the concierge number at PBH and explain it to them. They'll make the reservation for you. The number is (407) 503-1200. Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

Thankyou very much, i called the number and was able to reserve my cabana at the PBH.

I would hate to think that the lifeguard ,who is supposed to be guarding the safety of my children in the pool, is also responsible for making sure only the people who pay for cabanas use them. :sad2: I am sure it is somebody else who is responsible.

You're welcome! Enjoy and glad I could help. :thumbsup2

goNDmay9 - We have a cabana at the villa pool. My daughter is a teen, so no small kids to entertain. We thought the villa pool may be more relaxing.

Just returned and rented cabana #10 (Stevie Wonder). We had a fabulous time. There were 13 of us staying at the RPR, and another 6 visiting the parks for the day. They came over to the cabana after they finished with the park (around 6pm) The weather was great, our server was wonderful and there was a Dive-in movie (Lilo & Stitch). Great tv reception, ceiling fan worked well. They restocked our fridge once and we had our fruit. I went to the fitness center arouond 7:30am to pay for the cabana and pick up the remote for the tv. Four of us went to Seaworld, while two were at the cabana. The ones at IOA/US came back and forth during the day. Once we returned from Seaworld, we joined everyone there and stayed until around 10pm. It was $150.

That's the cabana we have reserved. I reserved it for Wed., during our stay. Did you happen to notice what the rest of the HRH entertainment schedule was during your visit? After reading Fan2CSkr's review, I think the other activities may be more fun for our family than the movie. We'd love to see a comedian or live band. :woohoo:

Which Cabanas allow for the best views of the dive-in Movies at RPR, HRH, and PBH?

Thanks!

Sorry, i didn't notice any of the activities. I did notice that HRH's pool itself, was much more busy/lively than RPR. But RPR's was much larger and had the basketball and volleyball net, which were always busy. HRH has a slide, but it didn't seem very busy on the slide. The Dive-in screen was smaller than I thought. The children lined up at the edge of the pool, right in front of the screen, to watch it. We could only see it slightly from our cabana. I don't suppose that any cabana had a great view (or could hear it very well) because all of the other cabanas were further away from the screen.
