Cabana Bay booked for June

Now decided on our hotel in June for daughter's 21st - booked the new Universal hotel, Cabana Bay. I know it has no front of line but budget wont stretch to one of the deluxe Universal hotels this year - only going for a week as that's all DD can have off work.

Hotel looks amazing though and we love all the retro 50's 60's theme. Anyone been yet? Any tips?

We went in October coincidentally for a week and loved it.

We stayed in a standard room in Americana - had a view of the rides.

Loved the theming. Used the refill mug in the foodcourt - think they were $17.99for the week. Soft drinks, slushies and coffee were included.

Loved the pool and lazy river. You have to buy the tube but they blow them up -think they were $12. Had to pay by card or charge to room.

Buses were great, no wait.

We made use of early entry to harry potter twice which was very useful.

Will stay there again. My daughter wanted to go back this year not Disney.

Thank you for this - is the mug you bought for drinks in the hotel foodcourt the same as the ones you can buy in the parks ie can you use for both or are the park ones to be purchased separately?

Do you see adults buying the large tubes for the lazy river or is it a 'kid thing'?

Also did you have a standard room without a pool view - we have booked one of those as I wondered if the rooms on the front overlooking the pool might be noisier.

We are going in April. I can't wait. From all I have read you can't use the hotel mugs in the park or vice versa. You'd need to buy two

No you needed a mug for the hotel and a different one for the park. We used them a lot.

I borrowed dd's ring for the pool but did see adults with them. Was very relaxing.

We were a standard view so car park side not pool view.

My boys have decided that they want to do more universal time next year,then disney " sob" so we're going to do 5 nights here and two at hrh.
When we stayed at Universal RPR last yr,we visited and it looked amazing,we didn't book because they said pools wouldn't be finished,and it ended up that they was!! So gutted lol.
