Wanting to surprise my family with a cabana at one of the water parks. Which one is better? We plan to do both water parks once. We'll be traveling with a 2 year old and 4 year old so having somewhere to get out of the sun for that mid day nap would be a huge benefit. Is one park easier to find shade over the other?

As far as I know, only one water park is open at a time these days. You may not have a choice between them.

Disney has only been operating one WP at a time since 2019. It can change at any point but nothing has been announced.

Well that's a bummer. Is it because they're not busy enough to have both open at the same time? It's obviously been a few years since we've been and we enjoyed being able to go to both

Typhoon lagoon cabana's are way better then blizzard beach if you had the choice.

The last time both were open at the same time was pre-pandemic.

They're as busy as they were when they had both open. For a while the apologists were blaming staffing shortages, but even that has quieted down.

The only reasonable explanation is its cheaper to operate one water park at a time than to operate two.

There are days when it gets pretty crowded, especially the wave pool and lazy river.
