Where can I find out about cab fares in St. Maarten and St. Thomas?

If you go to www.threecircles.net, Jason has a link to the islands transportation stuff. Anyway, recently back from the eastern Magic and we went to Orient Beach for 5$pp one way. We actually didn't go to Orient Beach bc the surf was too rough for my kids. Our cabbie recommended Le Gallion Beach instead. It was all but deserted for most of the morning and started to crowd up later around noon(we left around then). Our cab driver told us there aren't just cabs waiting to pick you up from Le Gallion so he'd come back for us whenever we wanted him too! We told him noon and he was back at noon on the nose.

St. Thomas, Meagan's Bay was 6$pp one way, my 3YO was free so our family took the cab for $36.00 from the ship to MB an dback. That is less than the price of 1 adult on the beach excursion.
