Cab from the HRH?

Hi, Hubby and I are going over to EPCOT next Friday, we are spending a long weekend (Thurs. - Mon.) at the HRH and Universal. I initially was going to use a car service to bring us over to the Boardwalk and pick us up, but now I'm wondering if it would just be easier to use a cab? For a car service the pickup time would be easy enough, but I'm not sure when we would be ready to come back. Has anyone taken a cab from the HRH to Disney or specifically HRH to the Boardwalk? Just wondering how much it will be. It seems like it would be easy enough to get a cab at the HRH and then later at night at the Boardwalk, and then just walk back and forth to Epcot via the International Gateway (we have stayed at the BWV before). Any thoughts at all?

We took a cab from HRH to Animal Kingdom, where they charged us $10 or something stupid to get through the gates to be dropped off. It was about a $30 taxi ride with the $10 on top of that. If you are just being dropped off at a hotel, you shouldn't get that extra surcharge.

There wasn't a problem with getting a cab though.

If I remember right our cab told us to tell the gatekeeper that we were going to the hotel or resort and then you dont get charged for parking. Can anyone confirm this hint?
We couldnt understand our driver and he got this really "dumb tourist" look about him when they charged us.

I think the 10 dollar fee will apply to the BW dropoff - Jodie mentioned this in her TR. But, it would be the same fee for a towncar or a cab I think? Maybe it is subjective, sometimes they charge, sometimes they don't. I guess my main concern is walking back to the BWV at night and getting a cab from there - would that be weird? I can imagine though it would be nearly impossible to get one at the front gate of Epcot after Illumintions! Decisions.
