CAA or Disney Reservations??

Does anyone know if there is a price difference between booking through Disney or going through CAA(or any other Travel Agency) We are planning on going in the fall, and I assume the price will be the same no matter who we book it through. I tried Dreams Unlimited and Disney on-line and the price was exactly the same. So is there any advantage to go with one over the other? Thanks

If you purchase through a Canadian travel agent you should be able to get your passes etc in Canadian funds. Depending on the exchange rate, that's either a good thing or a bad thing.

We (travel agents) can get our passes from Disney approved wholesalers, who set their prices at the beginning of the year. If the dollar takes a dive then the price of the pass is still the same as it was the week before. In that case it's advantageous to be able to buy your passes in Canada, in Canadian funds.

If CAA books like a AAA package you also get the voucher for the Lounge, Special AAA Parking Area Pass.


But if they book it thru a Canadian Wholesaler, you don't get any AAA perks!

I was refering to the book 5 get 2 days free promotion. Is that "dream maker "package basically the same price no matter who you book it through. And one more question, does the day your leaving count as one of the days on your length of stay pass. If that is the case, would it be worthwhile to book a day at the beginning and one day at the end of our stay at Disney, that way we would get full use of the length of stay pass. Thanks!!

You will pay in US funds but you do get the little extra perks. If you don't think you will need them then don't bother.

For arrival day, you can get there as early as 7:00 a.m. and get your UPH passes. Your room may not be ready but they will hold your luggage until it is. As for the last day, that is what I did for our last stay, I booked a room only so that way we could stay until the parks closed and then sleep in the next morning and not rush to get to the ariport and feel like we were wasting a day of the UPH! Or if the parks are closing early, then book a later flight that day.

So far we have been very fortunate-we have booked all our Disney vacation (except the first two) with CAA (love the little perks). Make sure you ask for a Disney Specialist.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I booked rooms with a CAA room only discount. To get full value with the Dream Maker package we would have had to book rooms at the beginnning and end of our stay. It actually turns out to be a little bit cheaper with CAA discount and buy a 7 day Park Hopper Plus pass. Also we don't have to pay until we check in, so that gives us more time to save. Thanks again for the help!!!

Just curious, which resort did you book your stay at and what did it cost you. We may be going down to the Swan in October (through work for me). I was thinking of staying some extra days on our money. I just wondered what kind of deal you got through CAA.

Hey AndyMcv We are going down at the end of September, staying at the All Star Sports. I booked directly through Disney and received a 20 percent discounted rate using my CAA card. The rate I received comes to about 66 dollars per night U.S. taxes included. If I had booked the Dream Maker package I would be paying for the passes on the day we arrive (we are driving), so that day would be wasted. And we would be paying for passes on the day that we leave, so that would be wasted. I figured out the cost of booking a room-only rate at the beginning and the end of our stay. So, with a 20 percent discount (value season) and a purchase of a 7 day park hopper plus pass at our local Disney Store (cheaper then on-line), we ended up saving some money to spend at Disney World! Also if a new deal comes out (at par) I can always change our reservations. One other thing, the Park Hopper Passes never expire, where as the Dream Maker Package was only good for the time of our stay. I just feel the All Star Restorts are good value for your money, and it gives us more to spend at Disney and other things. Hope this helps you. Cheers
